Feminism is tosh. It has given many young ladies some very silly ideas indeed.

If has led to modern women thinking it is acceptable to go to the local shop clad in their dressing gown. This is not acceptable, even if you live extremely nearby and it's a Sunday morning.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I'll never understand women who are against feminism. 🤦🏻‍♀️

You WANT to return to the days when women had no rights?? You're either a masochist or stupid or both.
blackdiamonds · 36-40, F
@DearAmbellina2113 they're brainwashed obviously

People on the internet always blame feminism for things that have absolutely nothing to do with feminism
Scribbles · 36-40, F
The concept of wearing pajamas in public, is one that was not born out of feminism.
It's just an informal cultural fashion trend, I think.

It happens here in America as well. It was started by men here actually. Specifically by students in University that were too lazy to dress themselves for early morning classes. Soon people dressed in "loungewear" or pajamas or sweatpants for public to go to the airport, or cafe or grocery store or drop your kids at daycare at 6:30 in the morning.

I don't wear pajamas in public, but I have been known to sometimes bring slippers to any late night staff meetings though. It's my protest against late night staff meetings that we could have done during the work day. :D

Why do you hate pajamas and think feminism is tosh because of pajamas in public?
Scribbles · 36-40, F
@justlooking2023 No.

I don't think those kinds of pajamas have been fashionable since 1894. I've never seen a store sell them in my lifetime. I don't know a single person to have worn them beyond a great grandfather in winter who only had an outhouse. And I wouldn't buy or wear them if they were fashionable or sold in stores.

Why are you asking such a strange question?
justlooking2023 · 56-60, M
@Scribbles Just because i'm strange.
originnone · 61-69, M
@Scribbles I won't give it that much credit. It's not borne of feminism, but I wouldn't exactly call it fashion...extreme laziness, disrespectful....
That has nothing to do with feminism, unless men were also going shopping in their pajamas. One can’t blame every social ill on the quest of equal rights and opportunities for women. 🙄
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
That has nothing to do with feminism.
SW-User
I think that has more to do with the culture in general becoming more casual and informal, rather than anything about feminism in particular.
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
As a feminist I believe someone should have taken better care of their granny otherwise we wouldn't be seeing this post now.
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
Good point! Feminism has ruined society. Let’s go back to the good old days when women had no right to vote, work, or speak when not being spoken to 🙄
Why don't we go back to the days when women couldn't show their ankles in public, had no right to own property, no right to vote and were basically the property of their husbands.
Silly feminists who fought for us to have any rights. 😐
@TheFlippantSide It is not a right to wear pjs in public. It is sloth. It is laziness. It is an I do not care about myself attitude. It is also a culture habit. When I lived in Toronto decades ago, one kind of person did this. Older women only.
@PoetryNEmotion I'm clear on the distinction and didn't really need the education. I'm just sick of this more recent attack on feminism, especially from women. It's ridiculous, and a complete misunderstanding of feminists ideology and the history of feminism, in general. I'd rather take issue with that than women wearing their PJs in public. But I've seen both men and women wear their PJs in public, of various ages.
Lauren19 · 26-30, F
I don't think going to the shop in a dressing gown is feminism.
It's being an unkempt slob. Literally nobody thinks well of you, they just think you're a disgrace.

Not sure how you made that link. Feminism encourages women to think and act independently, but wearing nightwear in public is not fundamental to the manifesto 🙂
Lilymoon · F
And I suppose this is acceptable 🤦‍♀️

MrEagle · 41-45, M
@Lilymoon ummm. Are you following me???
Lilymoon · F
@MrEagle 🤣 😦
Repete · 61-69, M
He can’t help it , the pants were made to short in the wast area . Yep that’s it 🙃 @Lilymoon
Northwest · M
Modern women, right? Thinking for themselves. How ridiculous.
Northwest · M
@Gloomy Normal changed since the pandemic. I put on sweatpants to go to the grocery store, because I don't feel like changing out of my "work" outfit. I do see men in pajamas, but that seems to be a cultural thing, as in I live in a tech-heavy area, and men from certain cultures (even pre-pandemic) are in the habit of wearing their pajamas everywhere.
@Northwest Some people here are just plain crotchety. 😐
Northwest · M
@TheFlippantSide crotchety 🤣
SW-User
that’s not feminism just Americans dressed sloppy lmao
Scribbles · 36-40, F
@SW-User Thankfully it's a fashion trend that is dying in America. It's athlete leisure now. Got to pretend we're ready to exercise our fat bottoms at any moment. :D
That is not feminism. It is sloth. I have never seen a single man in pj's in public.
@Gloomy What? Use words. You are an adult.
Gloomy · F
@PoetryNEmotion I thought your ridiculous comment wasn't worth any words but now since you insist.. It's frustrating how you put down women and cater to men like this. It's stupid and not even true.

@Queendragonfly
Of course!

{@bellows] 🤔would you not say that is more for personal convience bordering on laziness than being a feminist
That’s the big issue of course….dressing gowns in shops.
Get over it, old man. You’ll be dead soon anyway.
bugeye · 26-30, F
modern feminism is nothing like the feminism of old. it seems to be less about equality than about hating on men. wanting special treatment over men. i saw a feminist rally protesting against a male focused suicide prevention charity. they were calling it pretty much any buzz word they could think of. it was sexist, misogynistic etc

this is the kind of stuff i see them protest about all the time but not one rally for the girls in places like Afghanistan getting killed just because they want to go to school.
bugeye · 26-30, F
@BohemianBabe i also never see the ones who want equality campaign for when it's men who are the ones in the minority or who have an unfair bias against them.
@bugeye The reason divorce courts aren't biased against men any more is because of feminists. So that's good.
Remember, patriarchy harms men too. Ending it helps us all.
@bugeye It’s that you don’t see it. But there have been folks among feminists who fought for equal rights (men’s paternity leave, equal custody, and even issues like filing charges against women who molest the underaged).
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
I see you’re getting beat up here. But ... I also have noticed that wearing obvious pajamas has become sort of a thing. I don’t know if it has anything to do with feminism but it seems awfully casual. Lol.
@StevetheSleeve It has nothing to do with feminism. Around here, I’ve occasionally seen families in pajamas at the IHop, and some restaurants actually hold ”pajama brunches" where you receive a discount for being so dressed.

I might say , not acceptable for who , but I won’t.

Going to go to the local shop clad in their dressing gown has nothing to do with feminism. Your post is tosh.
Can’t say they haven’t been entertaining…at the very least!

Feminism is not laziness
Bellows · 61-69, F
@meJess it is worse than laziness.
originnone · 61-69, M
I wouldn't blame feminism. That's just stupidity....
Philth · 46-50, M
Oh my.
That is all.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I wear pajama pants in public all the time. I'm wheelchair bound due to a hemipelvectomy. My lack of left hip makes it difficult to wear pants that require belts or hips to sit on. So I go for elastic bands for comfort and to not worry about them falling down as i transition to chair from car. Living in Florida, sweat pants are often too hot and athletic wear is too expensive. Pajama pants just match so many needs. Everything is covered.

If you think my reasons are insufficient then i have to disagree. If you think my reasons are sufficient, then I have to wonder what is problematic about evening wear when non disabled people wear it casually?

Is the stuff she is wearing sheer or see through or something?
@ViciDraco Draco, you are overthinking. You wear pj pants because it is easier. Accessible. Good reasons. You are not a sloth nor lazy nor careless. Some people have no class at all. Why, what about the men wandering around in those nasty, skimpy bathing suits in public? Where one can see balls and all? People just do not care. It is sad.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
yeah, stupid feminists and their pjs
