I wouldn't, even in the morning you get crackheads.
Around 9 am today by the canals (was wearing a paleantology tshirt) there was a crackhead guy doing weird movements with a stick, walked past him and he says "I like the dinosaur head on your T-shirt mate", he does a roar, and starts waving his stick at me 😂
Someone removed the window screen from one of the windows in my sun room last night. They aren’t easy to put in or remove because they have two springs on one side, you have to push in that side with springs really hard to get it to fit and also use a tool to remove it…so it wasn’t wind etc that removed it. There are so many transients prowling around in this city no telling what they wanted. Now I have to close the windows at night or when I am not at home. They can’t lift the windows from the outside if they are closed.
@Ambroseguy80 She got voted out of office. I came home from shopping one Sunday afternoon and there was a man who came up campaigning for her. I believe it was her husband, had seen photos of him with her on her website. I got angry and said “Oh really after all she’s done to mess up this city? She needs to pack up and go back to Wichita!” And then ordered him to leave. He apologized and said he wouldn’t return. Scurried down the sidewalk to the next house. And a few weeks after she was out of office he filed a restraining order against her. We never found out why but I wondered if she was the one wearing the pants in the family.
That’s when the teens from an apartment complex about 8 blocks away walk around neighborhoods looking for stuff to steal outta cars, anything they can carry off and sell for $…gotta make some party money. Would be good to carry a baseball bat and an air horn if you do. They like to run away laughing when a car horn goes off. I got two free flashlights because of that, they dropped them next to my car on different days.
Yes, if you stay on the street or trail with a flashlight. You have to watch out for snakes because it is only then that it is cool enough for them to be out. No people will bother you.
@Nimbus that's part of the reason to live in a small village. That's not to say that there is no trouble at all. Burglaries and car jacks to happen on very rare occasions.

If you don't mind running back home without your belongings, sure
For most of my life, I would have answered 'yes'. I can no longer say that. Thanks to America-hating Democrat policies, we are now being flooded with criminal gangs, drugs, and illegal weapons.
Neighborhood scout gave mine a 35 out of 100 with 100 being the safest. That site is pretty good for giving data driven answers. I sometimes ride my bike at 2 ish
Everybody tells me it isn't but honestly nothing bad has happened to me and I'm not afraid. People who don't live here are more worried than I am hahah.
Once, walking into work (overtime) at about 5am a police car stopped alongside me and the guy said "Good morning, where are you going". I was carrying a long umbrella and they might have thought it was a Kalashnikov!
Must admit, way back, just one area in my home town (city now) that was considered a bit iffy at night, now quite a few areas I would not like to be in. Nearby, we have had drug raids, a drive-by shooting, a fatal stabbing - all over the past few years.
I would love to be able to go for night walks again... too many coyotes where i live though .. i have tried it before and the whole experience is just a prolonged anxiety attack of constantly watching everything.. if the sherrif would just make it legal to eliminate them already i would feel alot easier about taking a night hike.
@Atlotto Me and the boy used to walk after 11 at night when the summer days were around 100 F. During the daytime. We saw one neighbor who lives about 4 houses down sitting on the tailgate of his pickup truck and talked to him. He told us that he liked to sit in his driveway and watch what goes on in the neighborhood. I am happy to have a neighbor like him. When the SHTF soon we might all want to take turns watching our streets and neighborhoods.
Depends on what you are worried about. At 3 AM it's unlikely you will see anyone out moving around. Watch out for dogs, coyotes, and snakes and you'll be ok.
