Someone removed the window screen from one of the windows in my sun room last night. They aren’t easy to put in or remove because they have two springs on one side, you have to push in that side with springs really hard to get it to fit and also use a tool to remove it…so it wasn’t wind etc that removed it. There are so many transients prowling around in this city no telling what they wanted. Now I have to close the windows at night or when I am not at home. They can’t lift the windows from the outside if they are closed.

@Ambroseguy80 There are transients all over the city who get arrested daily for trespassing and breaking into homes.Or stealing or violence. It’s not safe anymore like it was. Thanks to California for buying them bus tickets to come here & telling them that we have better medical benefits.
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti yep. You can blame the top in Washington as well.

@Ambroseguy80 California is a hellhole with Dems running it, so this is how they try to solve their problem.
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti Yeah I know our city volunteered to bring bus loads in as well.

@Ambroseguy80 the problem in this city is that there is nothing that anyone really needs that doesn’t get fulfilled for them if they come here. They don’t have to work for it either. They can get meals in at least two places & shelter, snacks & bottled water,, hygiene items, clothing closets, access to free laundry machines, etc. I think they have come out with a bus to take them to appointments or whatever. Social workers will help them get their birth certificates, IDs, social security numbers etc to get them signed up for benefits, there is a waiting list but they will help them. So many don’t want to follow the rules (drugs, alcohol or pets) so they will camp out in wooded areas within the city and crap up the area with excrement and all kinds of trash. Property owners have had to have their wooded areas evicted & cleaned up & bulldozed because they can’t keep them out. They wander around all day high or drunk & create problems, try to break in and steal, carrying off what they can. I talked to a lady who had bought a house by the hospital hoping to raise her children there. They can’t even go out by themselves because these people will yell at them for skateboarding or whatever telling them to get off of the sidewalk or they’ll wander through her back yard for a “shortcut”. Several people have been murdered for trying to take them in. One man who was disabled almost got decapitated after they kidnapped him and made him give his password for his bank account and drained it. Took a machete and tried to saw his head off. And 3 transients have drowned, two in shallow water (rain puddle behind a alcohol rehab was one of them), and one froze to death in a wooded nature park.

@cherokeepatti Sounds horrendous

@Ambroseguy80 there is a patch of woods on an intersection corner near here, like 3 blocks away. I have seen shopping carts pushed back in it. Used to see people standing around 7-11 playing music trying to get people to give them money (they were on the green grass next to the curb) or at the intersection holding signs wanting help. Last week I noticed a “No trespassing” sign posted there so the property owner is aware and has probably had to clean up the area in the woods. Another man, an older man, had a vacant lot with thick growth of trees in it about a mile and half from here. He would call the police and have the campers removed and they would come right back within a month. He finally gave up and donated the property to the city. They had to remove tons & tons of trash, excrement, furniture, rotten food etc. and have it bulldozed to cut down some of the overgrowth. It cost the city a lot of money around $50,000 & they plan to turn it into another park. It is a health hazard to have them using these areas for toilets. They have torn down a lot of these sites and some are near the interstate or wilderness parks. They also wander through underground tunnels and sleep or whatever.

@cherokeepatti I would have never expected this to be happening in the nation’s heartland.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Ambroseguy80 Mainly due to the compassion of people wanting to help the downtrodden. Churches donate food to the food & shelter place and other things too. But also had a socialist mayor until a year ago and she was behind telling the police to stand down when they were wanting to remove the meth addicts from the wilderness park. And no telling what else she was behind.

@cherokeepatti it’s disgraceful that this happens in the USA

@Ambroseguy80 She got voted out of office. I came home from shopping one Sunday afternoon and there was a man who came up campaigning for her. I believe it was her husband, had seen photos of him with her on her website. I got angry and said “Oh really after all she’s done to mess up this city? She needs to pack up and go back to Wichita!” And then ordered him to leave. He apologized and said he wouldn’t return. Scurried down the sidewalk to the next house. And a few weeks after she was out of office he filed a restraining order against her. We never found out why but I wondered if she was the one wearing the pants in the family.

@cherokeepatti sounds like she was. Maybe she had shoe nuts as well? 🤭
