I would buy the few peeps i know, a brand spanking new pair of posh shoes each.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@zeggle Why new shoes?
zeggle · 61-69, M
@Musicman A gift, they should be happy ;-)

TexChik · F
A billion? Wow. That would be life-changing. Hire a lottery asset protection specialist, invest some, and towards the end of my time, create a college scholarship fund honoring my mother that will pay for scholarships as the dividends allow, for students that can qualify by meeting parameters my mother thought were important. My kids' grandkids will be well set for life.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@TexChik Fabulous answer! Bravo! 😊😊😊😊
@TexChik Atta girl! Love the plans and number of other lives you'd change.
meJess · F
@TexChik but you could be on stage with Kamala and Oprah. Your billion would go someway to paying Oprah’s appearance fee 😊
KiwiDan · 31-35, M
I've been thinking about this for an hour now, and I'm not going to let anyone struggle as long as I can help it. Be that funding cheap housing, making sure that my community has the infrastructure it needs, or donating to causes I know are needed like ambulances and the Citizens Advice Bureau.
AbbeyRhode · F
Tell anyone. I would anonymously donate to worthy charities, and help family and friends, but I would not allow it to be made public.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@AbbeyRhode

Good Grief! Could you imagine the mail you'd receive if your name + a billion dollars became known? You'd need your own zip-code and a 16 wheeler just to check your mail.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@AbbeyRhode me neither. Those relatives that wouldn’t help you in any way would be the first to come knocking.
AbbeyRhode · F
@cherokeepatti Yep, I have several lurking in the woodwork, and I'd like it to stay that way.
I would NOT Keep working my current job beyond the receipt of the funds.

Beyond that, I'd not be foolish with it .. I'd buy my truck and camper I'm working/saving for now, a modest place w a nice view, invest some, help some family and support some causes that resonate w me.
gregloa · 61-69, M
I would buy me a boat. I would buy me a truck to pull it. I would buy me a yeti 110 iced down with some silver bullets. Well you know what they say money can’t buy everything well maybe so. But it can buy me a boat.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@gregloa I love that song m I have it downloaded on my phone. 😎
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@gregloa Houseboat, tree house, cabin in a wooded area, custom camper van. I’d have trouble deciding which one I’d want to get first.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I love it when your biggest decision is what order to buy them in. Lol!!! 😂😂😂
Tumbleweed · F
I'm definitely NOT going to forget those who were there for me when I had nothing. I'm definitely NOT going to let my family struggle and fret any more. And I'm definitely NOT going to buy mansions & fancy cars & frivolous nonsense.
kodiac · 22-25, M
Tell anyone
EarthGirl · 18-21, F
@kodiac I'm pretty sure your name would be posted all over the news.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Go to Disneyland
@Heartlander you'll be broke by the end of your trip
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@beermeplease

That's what I would NOT do :)

What I would possibly do would be to buy a 1948-49 pickup truck with a few dents, do a shopping spree at the nearby Catholic Charities used clothes store, leave them a big tip when checking out and disappear into the US backroads with a big (I've got a secret) smile on my face.
katydidnt · 61-69, F
Answer the phone.
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
@katydidnt smart!
Lostpoet · M
See my family
robb65 · 56-60, M
Buy a new truck. But I could sure buy a lot of old ones.
robb65 · 56-60, M
@Musicman I've never owned a flat head V8, I wouldn't mind a late 40/early 50's Ford. Mercury trucks are kinda rare, wouldn't mind having one of those either.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@robb65 Excellent choices! So with your billion dollars would you build a large garage and set it up with a lift and tools to work on and restore your collection?
robb65 · 56-60, M
@Musicman Might as well. And a lot of spare parts.
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
Give it away to the poor for shelter and infrastructure for the people. Keep 150,000 for myself to figure out how to survive with it....I have to be smarter than this world.
Lilymoon · F
Give any to my family
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Lilymoon Should we ask why?
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@Lilymoon I’m not family. We could share 🤩
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
Tell you my next move 🙄
HumanEarth · F
Buy a new car, buy a new house, but I am buying a new pair of heels and having my nails done 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@HumanEarth Those are the things you are NOT going to do???
HumanEarth · F
I never buy a new car or house. Like why my farm is paid off. New cars are just crap, I rather have 1980 or older in vehicles

Heels and having my nails professionally done are a given.
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
Not going to sleep alone anymore. 🛌
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@FloorGenAdm
What's the matter? Don't you talk about condoms in your American culture?
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
@SandWitch Mostly in private...ya know?
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@FloorGenAdm
In private? Why? Why are condoms considered to be a 'privacy issue' in American culture where they are only ever spoken about behind closed doors?
Turn up to work tomorrow
Tell anyone about it.
What i will do: move away and change my name.

Musicman · 61-69, M
@bugeye So what would you actually do with your winnings? 🙂
@bugeye You would almost definitely still want to work, just not at your job
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@bugeye I'm reminded of an old Oregon lottery commercial back in the '80s. It was making fun of the old "man in the street" interviews. They would ask people what they would do if they won the lottery. One woman said, "I'd give it to my boss." Then we cut to a boss's office where the same woman was standing there laughing, having overturned the boss's desk as the boss sat there looking stunned.

I'd provide a video, but Google is having selective amnesia today.
Give it to others

@Jessmari I give to the animals (ASPCA)
Jessmari · 46-50
@MsSwan I don't consider that political. They provide a service that shows results.
@Jessmari I don't consider it political either. That was my point, lol. ☮

strip club with champagne and all that bollox
@bijouxbroussard

Delightful vehicles, I hear... and excellent resale value, too 😁
Invest in anything Trump is pushing... and lose it all when it eventually goes bankrupt?!
Discerning · 46-50, M
@rinkydinkydoink the trick is to buy and sell within the first two days. Then you take advantage of the diehards
@Discerning

You're hired!
