I’ll be back to answer this one after I wake up from my open heart surgery later today, because I have a feeling that my answer might change over the next several hours.
While I've experienced worse pain, the sensation I hate the most is what I call a nerve itch that happens in my feet, likely because of my neuropathy.
What happens is that I get an intense itching sensation in my feet that nothing will resolve. Scratching does nothing. I've tried soaking my feet in epsom salts. Didn't help. I've tried all sorts of anti-itch creams. Didn't help.
Ultimately, I found that the only thing that helped at all was this lotion called Diabetaid, which contains capsaicin, the stuff that makes chili peppers hot. It helps, but only slowly. I have to slather it on my feet and then put on socks to keep the lotion from getting everywhere — you do not want this stuff on any of your more delicate parts.
This will often at least calm things down enough that I can sleep, or at least tolerate the itch without loosing my mind until it subsides.
...scraping all the way through your kidney and down the walls of your urethra for hours until it finally comes out. Agonizing pain while waiting in ER until they can get to you. I've passed three. Kidney stones are no party.
@PatKirby I have a friend in NorCal that is loaded with stones, at 3 to 4 a year, he has a permanent vicodin scrip because of them and has to piss through a kitchen strainer. He says a stone the soze of a grain of sand feels like a boulder made of razor blades.
Internal pain because you can’t explain it to people.. when you have external obvious issues people understand but to internal things they are clueless
@MaBalzEsHari I can just see the pics now, adult diaper equipped with a proctoscope holster on the side... and all set for the big showdown at the O-K Corral.

@LordShadowfire so a) it was very unexpected;! i was high stumbling through the woods near my parents house while about 15 years old. B) early\middle of winter very cold. Probably 2005 C) i had smoked weed for maybe my third time ever; shortly prior. But about 1\2 mile from where i was then shot while walking. I'd suddenly decided turn 90 degrees to my right and just start sprinting. My left leg doesnt work well from a brain injury . After about 4 steps (leaps) bam a lightening hot bolt through my chest and bam im on the ground. So have you ever burnt your hand on a very hot metal pot or pan. That level of pain (sharpness) when the bullet pierced, but so quick. Then im on the ground holding the bottom of my coat over the wound. I did not have much time to think about it or react. I hear rushing steps, a hand pushes me onto my back from my left shoulder. As thats happening i felt a something moving through my chest near my left lung to my middle neck then up the right side of my neck. Then falls from the top left middle roof of my mouth into mouth. Something pushed up from my larynx spark boom. The guy that shot me had ran to me mouth aghast (hanging open) he ranted about thinking i was a deer was so sorry. Then just stared mouth aghast wide open and the bullet exploded from my mouth directly through his. I organized the body such that he tripped and his rifle landed barrell in mouth his toe on the trigger. Did i do that? One-handed. It was reported as a 'suspicious hunting accident' in the Schenectady Gazette. I never told anyone and just went back from whence id come limping along. He shot me first!l
@Lilyb I feel that. 5 years ago, I walked into one. That was the start of a very long process of healing and breaking back open, due to my diabetes. It surprised the hell out of me, because I had never had a minor wound like that fail to heal properly before.
