I'm starting tonight with the 14:10 plan in order to get used to fasting as a routine. I was considering 16:8 because sometimes I don't eat breakfast or dinner, it flops between the two. But with my medications, I theoretically need to eat something in the morning..
I'll probably give my current plan sometime and change to 16:8 when I'm feeling comfortable enough with the routine!

•Would you rather skip breakfast or dinner with the 16:8 intermittent fasting routine? ♡

I do 20:4, eat for four but fast for 20, keto carnivore. I usually start around 2 or 3 and then eat my last at 6 or 7. Sometimes I'll eat within a four hour frame or a two hour one depending.

I exercise in the morning and eat later in the afternoon.

@SatanBurger Thats not bad! I feel like I could do that somedays but then others aren't so much. Sorta why I'm trying to get the routine so I can steady it.
At least I don't have late night munchies! lol

I typically exercise in the evening [4pm] after work, since I speed walk around 7K or more a day.

I'd also do the 20:4 like satanburger, skipping breakfast and maybe lunch. I prefer late lunch and dinner. Goodluck 👍
I skip breakfast and lunch. Work days i dont eat till i get home after 6 . Have a two hour eating window those days.
But on my days off - i usually eat around 2 or three- ish in the arvo, which gives me about 5 hour window or so .

On weekends i swtich it around, or just have liquid days....plus its good to have a normal day now and them .

As to which one you choose - its up to what suits you .
Ive never really been a breakfast person .
Mudkip · 31-35, M
@OogieBoogie I'm literally the same. I don't seem to need or want breakfast. It makes me feel sluggish, even in the mornings when I sometimes run and workout. I'm better off without it.
@Mudkip yep. Thats me too.
Its why i believe everyone should find what works best for them.
Ive never understood "breakfast is the most important meal of the day"....its not, well not for me ut isn't.
Not unless i wanna be asleep thru lunch 😂
Mudkip · 31-35, M
@OogieBoogie I know, I hear this a lot too and I'm like, yeah no lol. I'd probably sleep thru lunch too 😂

If I had to choose one, I’d skip breakfast and go with dinner since it would probably be easier to sleep with food in my system, lol. But I’ve done full-on fasting where I wouldn’t eat anything for two weeks straight before. You got this.
Ducky · 31-35, F
@CutieMeow I’m real skinny and I’ve done that. Call me crazy. 😂
CutieMeow · F
@Ducky Nah, not crazy. Impressively talented :3
Ducky · 31-35, F
@CutieMeow Doesn’t take talent to do that, lol. But thank you.
I dont fast, as it will throw my blood sugar levels.

I never skip breakfast, but can only have bran or portage.

Lunch is homemade soup. I know what is in it. Or an omelette. (?Yes, I know about cholesterol, my luxury).

Evening meal is a light salad, with fish. Small portion. Maybe an apple or low fat yoghurt.

After each meal I must take fifteen minutes exercise. This could be a brisk walk.
Or the occasional run. Not in this weather.

Limited tea or coffee, mainly water.

No medication.
I'd rather skip breakfast. I'm usually not hungry in the morning, anyway.

16:8 is very doable, I've been doing it for quite a while 🙂
Redbeard · 56-60, M
Fasting is good. Just consult with your physician on which type of fasting is best for you and what your physical body is capable of handling.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I tend to skip breakfast, as I'm not a morning person and getting up extra early to have time to eat has never been appealing to me.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@CutieMeow I've seen a lot of diet specialists suggest a filling breakfast and then a light lunch to push through the day. That put the hardest part of the fast, when you are most hungry, during sleep hours so you won't just be thinking about the food you could be having. Which helps control sporadic splurging.
CutieMeow · F
@ViciDraco Yea! I've read some articles about how both studys say what's recommended with one or the other. Right now, I do eat in the morning during the week & during the weekend - not so much. Because my work shift is early, I do find it hard to eat a hearty meal in the mornings. So I do a Rice Cake, 1 or 2, enough for the medicine & then go to work until my break around 1:30-2. By then I'm not even hungry, but I'll get a fruit cup because I know I didn't eat enough for breakfast. Then my dinner is bigger... I think that's where I go wrong. But I'm still cutting back calories during all this.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@CutieMeow Try preparing a healthier breakfast of things you can eat cold and get them all prepped the night before. Rice the calorie difference out of dinner. Weight loss is one thing, but still want to make sure you get your nutrients. Rice cakes are kind of low nutrient per calorie I believe.

I did far better skipping breakfast and having black coffee when I was new to fasting.
