@ElwoodBlues It isn't if the person is engaging in good faith and asking relevant questions and expecting relevant replies. You believe this was a relevant conversation, in which I ducked the point and instead responded with sarcasm? Or is this more of your childish nonsense where you do anything and everything to throw me off your bad arguments and misdirection propaganda from the MSM?
@pdockal regarding Florida Dept of Ed banning 40% of math books says
Maybe they are horrible books?
States like NJ & Mass - that consistently score at the top of the NAEP rankings year after year - did not ban any math books.
Shouldn't the curriculum be similar throughout the entire UNITED STATES ?
It's unlikely local and state school boards would ever give up that level of control. Because if they did, they'd have to copy the curricula of states like CT, MA, & NJ that consistently score at the top of the NAEP. And red states, that consistently rank worse in education, would never do that.
@pdockal Just because you decide you are done doesn't mean I can't continue to post! I stand by my point that if you want the best curriculum in your state you should look at those northeast states that are at the top educationally.
The obsession over LGBT people is really just a distraction from the fact that Republicans have no policies that are popular with most Americans. They can't run on cutting social security, banning abortion, or giving more subsidies to the rich. None of those policies are popular. So instead, they obsess over culture war nonsense and Hunter Biden.
@ElwoodBlues Did you read the books? Maybe they are horrible books? Shouldn't all the students learn the same material ? Shouldn't the curriculum be similar throughout the entire UNITED STATES ?
Republicans are used to the population growing more conservative as it ages. This has not been happening with recent generations as consistently. Because of this, they are desperately trying to figure out the cause because otherwise they are going to be aged out of electoral power.
When they look at the numbers they see that educated people are less likely to get more conservative over time. So the conclusion is that liberals are educating children away from conservatism. With that fear in mind, they are trying to stamp out anything they feel might be liberal friendly indoctrination. Unfortunately, that includes stopping discussion of factual information that might go against some of their party positions.
@SumKindaMunster I brought them up since we were talking about right wingers broadly.
Facts and data are on my side. Reality has a left wing bias.
No rich people who agree with me (don't know of any) would loose their wealth just like all the others. I consider liberals to be more on the right wing side as well. I want a Socialist state and by playing nice and understanding Conservatism this won't work.
They want kids stupid and homeschooled where they will be easier to molest. Schools provide a refuge from family abuse and are thus hated for that and for providing them the education to realize that family members shouldn't be doing what they are doing. After just one year of remote learning several teachers had to deal with an increase in social/religio-political brainwashing as well as an uptick in abuse cases. So you can imagine what 18 years of that would do to a child. Republicans are child abusers.
I won't attempt to read their minds, but republican attitudes are trending more and more anti-education.
Republicans: 37% say college has a positive impact Democrats:73% say college has a positive impact
The share of Americans who believe colleges and universities have a positive impact on the country has dropped by 14 percentage points since 2020.
That's according to the latest results of an annual survey conducted by New America, a nonpartisan think tank. Since 2017, the organization has been collecting data on Americans' attitudes about the value of education after high school and how that education should be funded.
In line with previous years, the survey finds that Democrats and Republicans disagree about multiple aspects of higher education. While 73% of Democrats believe colleges and universities have a positive impact on the country, only 37% of Republicans feel that way.
Is Democrats' aim for America's schools the filling of kids' minds with poison about how they may be the wrong gender and need permanent mutilation from a surgeon, in the form of "gender-affirming care?" Inquiring minds want to know.
@Ryderbike Point of Order: those white people in the background were democrats. Republican President Eisenhower in 1957 ordered in the national guard to enforce Brown v Bd of Ed.
Seriously ? What area do you live in because the school systems by me aren't teaching the kids anything useful The new math makes zero sense No cursive Drag queens brought in for who knew what Glad i don't have any kids school age Dumbing down of America ?
Since you are so familiar with the US educational cirriculum, perhaps you can enlighten actual Americans about this "white heterosexual perspective" delusion they are teaching in American schools.
What are we missing? Gay anal sex with 5 year olds of color?
