Is Republicans' ultimate aim for America's schools the criminalization of teaching anything except the White heterosexual perspective?

The obsession over LGBT people is really just a distraction from the fact that Republicans have no policies that are popular with most Americans. They can't run on cutting social security, banning abortion, or giving more subsidies to the rich. None of those policies are popular. So instead, they obsess over culture war nonsense and Hunter Biden.
Gloomy · F
@BohemianBoo All those conservative media channels keeping this stupid "culture war" going are funded by oil companies, billionaires and so on. It's all a distraction and it exploits people who are frustrated and gives them something or someone to project their hate on.
SW-User
@BohemianBoo But what's worrying is this is not a culture war they're waging. They are criminalising the teaching of viewpoints they don't agree with. That's fascism, and the media are complicit (left and right) in framing it as a culture war.
@SW-User That's what makes it even worse. The modern GOP is pretty openly fascist now, as they've rejected democratic elections. And the fact that they don't really believe what they're saying about LGBT people doesn't mean they won't enact policy that does real harm.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo LOL, so you support open borders, drug running, child molesting, giving 10 year old's chopoffadicktomy's, persecuting parents at school board meetings, raiding churches,....
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo ....14% inflation, empty shelves in grocery stores, defunding police, burning down cities, blm....
@sunsporter1649 That's nice, but it has nothing to do with the topic.
What popular policies do Republicans have? My answer is none and that's why they're obsessing over LGBT people and Hunter Biden.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo So your policies are so popular?
@sunsporter1649 Yes. Most Americans agree with left-wing policies even if they don't identify as Leftists.
And even the Democrats, as centrist Liberals, have a few policies that most Americans support. Republicans have literally none.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo So name them....
@sunsporter1649 Returning to Roe v Wade, raising the minimum wage, expanding the ACA, red flag laws, closing the gun show loophole, universal basic income, raising taxes on the rich, and better funding for public schools.

You can disagree with those policies, but they're still popular. Try naming some popular Republican policies.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo LOL, ignoring The Constitution, 16 year old's flipping burgers for $15 an hour, what loophole is happening at gun shows, government run insurance, no incentive to better yourself just sucking hind tit off the government, increasing taxes in waitresses, prohibiting parental choice on the schooling they want their children to acquire....
@sunsporter1649 See? You can't name any policies Republicans have that are popular.
All you can do is say you disagree with Democrats' policies.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo Closing the southern border, punishing criminals, reducing spending, drill baby drill....
@sunsporter1649 The Republicans don't want to close the border. Even Trump said immigrants should be able to come here legally. Also, most Americans want it to be easier to immigrate here.
"Punishing criminals" isn't a policy. We already punish criminals.
America already produces more oil than any other country. So again, not a policy they're offering. This is just how things already are.

So the only things you were able to name is one thing that the Republicans don't want to do, and two things they want to do, but Democrats are already doing.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo LOL, as opposed to biden's policy of letting anybody in? And the overwhelming majority want the CFR followed, not your anybody that swims the river policy you want. And that shooter in michigan was punished for illegally carrying an unregistered firearm and got home arrest instead of the 5 year mandatory sentence, real bad decision, eh? Oh really, then how come all that oil in Pennsylvania, offshore, and Alaska is blocked.
@sunsporter1649 We both know Biden isn't letting just anybody in. And again, it's beside the point. Neither party wants closed borders.
That was one case and, even in it, the criminal was still punished. Seriously, do you think our prisons aren't still being filled with criminals? This is such a pathetic hill to die on.
I didn't say we're drilling at EVERY single spot we can. I said we're still producing more oil than any other country. So saying "the Republicans want to drill for oil" is basically saying "Republicans want to continue doing what we're doing now."

@BohemianBoo Any more bullschiff you wanna spew?

01/20/2021 – Ending Trump's Energy Independence Initiatives: Biden wasted no time living up to his promise,
issuing a Day 1 Climate Change Executive Order (EO) requiring agencies to review and revoke Trump's pro-American
energy rules and actions throughout the executive branch.
• 01/20/2021 – Burdensome Emissions Regulations: Biden’s EO required agencies to take action to increase
burdensome emissions regulations as part of the Left’s green agenda and subsidize "good union jobs."
• 01/20/2021 – Monument Designations: Biden continued setting the tone on Day 1 by cordoning off large swaths of
federal land under the guise of National Monument designations, reducing the ability to produce American energy
domestically.
• 01/20/2021 – ANWR: Biden continued restricting domestic production by issuing a moratorium on all oil and natural
gas leasing activities in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
• 01/20/2021 – Social Costs of Carbon: Biden restored and expanded the use of the social costs of carbon metric to
artificially increase the regulatory costs of energy production, as well as artificially increasing the so-called "benefits" of
decreasing production.
• 01/20/2021 – Keystone XL Pipeline: Biden’s EO went on to revoke the Keystone XL Pipeline, shutting off an efficient
source of energy transportation which would have brought more oil into the country.
• 01/20/2021 – WOTUS: Biden continued to revoke Trump administration executive orders, including those related to
WOTUS and the Antiquities Act. The Trump-era actions decreased regulations on Federal land and expanded the ability
to produce energy domestically.

• 01/27/2021 – Climate Financing: A week later, Biden was back at it again. This Biden EO attacked the energy industry
by promoting “ending international financing of carbon-intensive fossil fuel-based energy while simultaneously
advancing sustainable development and a green recovery." In other words, the US government would leverage its power
to attack oil and gas producers while subsidizing favored industries.
• 01/27/2021 – Green the Fleet: This Biden action called on federal agencies to facilitate carbon neutrality by 2025,
with a particular focus on pushing electric vehicles for Federal, State, and local governments.
• 01/27/2021 – Wind Production: The Biden administration continued to push for inefficient fuel sources by setting a
goal to double wind production on Federal lands by 2025.
• 01/27/2021 – Gas Lease Moratorium: The EO announced a moratorium on new oil and gas leases on public lands or
in offshore waters and reconsideration of Federal oil and gas permitting and leasing practices. In other words, Biden
provided he is following through on his promise to "end" fossil fuels.
• 01/27/2021 – Fossil Fuel “Subsidies”: Biden's EO directed agencies to eliminate Federal fossil fuel subsidies
wherever possible without comparable actions for other energy sources, disadvantaging oil and gas.

01/27/2021 – Environmental Justice: Biden's EO pushed for an increase in enforcement of "environmental justice"
violations and support for such efforts, which typically are advanced by radical environmental organizations.

• 03/15/2021 – Climate Disclosure Rule: The SEC sought input regarding the possibility of a rule that would require
hundreds of businesses to measure and disclose greenhouse gas emissions in a standardized way for the first time,
massively increasing so-called environmental costs of compliance and, in tandem with so-called social costs of carbon,
artificially disincentivizing oil and gas production.

04/15/2021 – FERC Carbon Pricing: The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s policy statement outlines - and
effectively endorses - how the agency would consider market rules proposed by regional grid operators that seek to
incorporate a state-determined carbon price in organized wholesale electricity markets. This amounts to a de facto
endorsement of a carbon tax that would be paid by everyday Americans.

@sunsporter1649

Name some policies the Republicans have that are popular with most Americans.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo I can give you another 18 months of your oil policies if you want....
@sunsporter1649 Because you don't have any Republican policies that are popular.
So now you understand why Republicans need to distract the public with culture war nonsense and conspiracy theories.
SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 56-60, F
@BohemianBoo Focusing on Hunter Biden worked out so well for them in the midterms:

@SevIsPamprinYouAlways And we know they haven't learned anything from that. Sarah Huckabee Sanders' reply to the SOTU speech was nothing but culture war nonsense.
SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 56-60, F
@BohemianBoo Ah, yes; Sarah’s priceless response, which sure did own one party, though it certainly wasn’t the Democrats:
