Is Republicans' ultimate aim for America's schools the criminalization of teaching anything except the White heterosexual perspective?

@SW-User Uh huh, yeah. You seem like an articulate person, that being the case, why do you feel the need to post such provocations? You'd freely admit this is not really what you believe is happening, do you? 🤔
SW-User
@SumKindaMunster Thank you for saying I'm articulate, but I'm sorry to say that I 100% believe that this is happening.

For a start, just look the Republican legislatures banning concepts, authors and books, left right and center. Apparently 18 states have banned the teaching of “divisive concepts”, and another 20 are thinking about it. But this is worst in Florida with the Stop Woke Act, which, as you doubtless know, bans teaching concepts that suggest that:

“a person, by virtue of his or her race, color, sex, or national origin, bears personal responsibility for and must feel guilt, anguish or other forms of psychological distress because of actions, in which the person played no part, committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, national origin, or sex”.

This has now included Florida’s board of education, which has banned AP African American studies on the grounds that it included concepts forbidden by DeSantis’s law, including structural racism, CRT and intersectionality, and authors like Kimberlé Crenshaw, bell hooks, Roderick Ferguson, and Ta-Nehisi Coates. What was midly amusing about this is that the board claimed they had come to this decision "independently" 😉

And you know what's happening? Administrators and teachers are being forced out of their positions on the suspicion of violating these laws, and it's only going to get worse. This is not a culture war about Woke concepts; in a supposedly pluralistic democracy, culture wars are to be expected. This is different. This is criminalizing the speech of educators. This is not democracy; it's fascism.

And, I'm sorry, but Republicans' ultimate goal is the outlawing of anything that is not acceptable to the White straight majority. Think about it: why are concepts like CRT and structural racism being criminalized? I'll tell you: it's to prevent White guilt. And no one in America seems to realize just how problematic this behaviour is.

As I've mentioned in another thread, Germany teaches its Nazi history with the express intention of creating anguish and guilt in German children (and perhaps for this reason, Germany is the world’s most stable liberal democracy). What do you think would happen if the AfD party in Germany passed laws forbidding schools from teaching about the sins of Nazism, on the grounds that such teaching does, in fact, and quite obviously, cause anguish and guilt in German children? Would the world stand for it? No! Would America stand for it? No!

So why isn't there an outcry when similar laws are passed to protect the innocence of White Americans?

Any democracy worth its salt needs informed decision-making about policy and these GOP laws are intended to render such deliberation impossible when it comes to minority groups. The United States suffers from huge racial disparities, which is why there are so many BLM protests among others. Without an understanding of the structural factors that keep schools and cities segregated, and certain populations impoverished, Americans will not be able to react to these outbreaks with understanding; they'll be confused and angry. These laws eliminate the knowledge and understanding required to react democratically to Black political protests regarding structural injustice.

And what's worse is the GOP knows this and is fully aware that the authors these laws are specifically tailored to do not just theorize about problematic structures – their work is also essential for understanding solutions. Do you know Roderick Ferguson? He writes about social movements for liberation, including student movements. However, these laws make it illegal to teach students about the history and strategy of social movements targeting structural injustice. More generally, these laws make it illegal to teach students about how to form social movements to challenge dominant interests and structures.

So yes, the Republicans may claim that banning discussion of CRT and other concepts supposedly frees schools from indoctrination (although what could be more Orwellian than restricting the free flow of ideas and then celebrating this fact?), but really they want to intimidate, bully, and punish "Woke" educators to submit to the ideology of the dominant majority (i.e. White straight Americans), and are prepared to enact legislation to ensure Their Will Be Done.

This is fascism. Republicans need to be stopped.

@Gloomy Oh please, we've spoken before. You hate right wing people and you aren't American. I truly don't care what an indoctrinated hater who justifies her hate using terms like "stochastic terrorism" and the "paradox of tolerance" thinks, its not like you came to this conclusion through serious research and contemplation, you already believed such things, then went out and found the stuff that justifies your hate and intolerance.

But you wanna cast shade on right wingers....🙄
Gloomy · F
@SumKindaMunster I came to all my positions through research, studiyng and experience. The paradox of tolerance is a valid concept I came in contact when I was forming my values and found it to be important. Hate speech laws operate on it for example.

Righ wing people try their best to rationalize their hatred against the LGBTQ community, climate activists, civil rights and womens rights activism, poor people, ..... I don't need to cast shade on right wingers their repulsive ideology does that for itself.

No, for if you did, you would not follow it up with:

If you truly were open and neutral you would not have the idea that the Right wing hates people, they just don't agree with everyone.

A true neutral scholar would research and investigate both sides of the issue and understand and have empathy for others who don't share your opinions.

I have sympathy and pity for you, I feel bad you have chosen this as your core beliefs. You are being used. As I said before, hatred and demonization of those with whom you do not agree is a dead end and you are wasting your time promoting it.

@SumKindaMunster Public right wing figures use big plattforms with lots of followers to spread hate which leads to murders and hate crimes against trans people or women in general.
You can't disagree with someone existing. Some conservatives might say they don't care but then support laws that would make life worse for specific groups of people. I judge you based on laws and policies proposed by the right internationally and by speeches of leadership figures.

I am used by whom? People of my ideology barely have any backup or leaders in power.

No, that's just what you have been conditioned to believe. Nobody's promoting hate and murders, that's ridiculous.

You can't disagree with someone existing.
I never said I did, work on your reading comprehension.

Some conservatives might say they don't care but then support laws that would make life worse for specific groups of people. I judge you based on laws and policies proposed by the right internationally and by speeches of leadership figures.

I know you do. But if Conservatives did the same to marginalized groups that you care about, you will make a giant fuss about that while conveniently ignoring your own bias and hate, huh?

I am used by whom? People of my ideology barely have any backup or leaders in power.

Political Action Committees. Charities, pundits, news people and politicians who benefit not only from your hate, but also your nihilism. It's too their benefit that you continue to sit there, do nothing, blame others, and promote partisan ideals.

Your message seems to be that the entire problem with society is centered around Right wing people and if we could just rid the world of them, everything would be fine. Is that really a realistic way to go through life? Is this not the same attitude you insist on seeing in Right wing people? If only we could get rid of these people, everything would be better?
Gloomy · F
@SumKindaMunster Watching videos from people like Candace Owens,Matt Walsh, Trump, Ben Shapiro, Lauren Southern... the list goes on. I am not conditioned you are just blind and deaf.

I'm politically active in my country and in the internationale worldwide. I do advocate for radical system changes around the world either through revolution or within democratic processes.
Since when have those Institutions and people you mentioned advocated for Socialism?

Not everything would be better but it would be an important step of so many. There would be less climate change denial bullshit so we could address the issue, less culture war which is a waste of time, less rich people who play and outsmart a broken system, ....

I have never mentioned these people in any of our discussions, but again, noted that you brought them up and I can only assume you believe I am beholden to the opinions of each of these people, I am not. I don't even know who Matt Walsh is....

It's so disappointing to me to see left wing people behave just like the old religious right of decades ago. There is no getting through to you, you know it all, and anything you don't know you can just dismiss as right wing.

The sad thing is this...
less rich people who play and outsmart a broken system
, this is the one thing we could all agree on..it's the political and cultural elites who take and take, not the rank and file Conservatives. But I am sure its only right wing rich people that are the problem, correct? Rich people who agree with your viewpoints are totally fine I am sure.
Gloomy · F
@SumKindaMunster I brought them up since we were talking about right wingers broadly.

Facts and data are on my side. Reality has a left wing bias.

No rich people who agree with me (don't know of any) would loose their wealth just like all the others. I consider liberals to be more on the right wing side as well.
I want a Socialist state and by playing nice and understanding Conservatism this won't work.

And yet you subscribe to propaganda regarding Right wing people. How convenient.

I want a Socialist state and by playing nice and understanding Conservatism this won't work.

That's true. That's gonna require an uprising and overthrow....you think you are up for it?

Good luck in whatever country you live in, hopefully its all you imagined it would be.
@SumKindaMunster Aren't you the guy claiming "sarcasm isn't a relevant rebuttal"???
