Delivering newspapers when I was 11. That Winter I came down with an ear infection complicated by tonsillitis that left me deaf in my left ear for the rest of my life. Quite a price to pay for about $5 a week.

Other than mowing lawns in the neighborhood, my first job with a paycheck was working in a sawmill when I was 13. That was my summer job until I was 19 and started working in a cotton mill.
Mine was to get the hospital surveys from patients and in second half of the day was data entry. That was about $10/month

@DrWatson Linotypes had mostly been retired by the time I got into it. Pretty much all the dedicated systems I worked on were Compugraphic cold type machines before I was able to transition to DTP on Macs.
