Not HR, but I was once reported to the union because a very religious coworker overheard me and a friend discussing similarities between some Wiccan practices and Vodûn.

Said coworker accused us of being "devil worshippers" and demanded we be forbidden from discussing such things on work premises (we’d been in the break room). I had friends in the union, and the friend also accused is a practicing Wiccan.

The upset coworker was a devout Christian who often brought aspects of her faith and church activities to the workplace.

So the union told her that if discussing religion was going to be out of bounds in the workplace, that would include her prayer sessions, as well as her sale of church suppers—they couldn’t be brought into the building.

Once she realized she would also be restricted, she backed off.

Not to HR.

HR rarely interfered with the managers decisions. HR mostly worked with customers. And if there was a customer employee problem, HR confronted the managers, never the employees directly.

None would know which customer(s) complained. Managers had responsibility over their employees, not HR. You were fired by the managers if necessary.

You had no control over the management. Taking a manager position was unheard of. If there was a manager employee problem, you at least transfered to a different department. That was the only way to go up the ladder. By transferring.

And yes I once transferred. How I became a rover.

I only saw HR once after hiring in orientation the whole ten years.

I was in a one-on-one with my boss. She kept harping on and on about this one trivial thing, which I was already pissed off about. I kept telling her I understood what she was saying, but she just kept going on and on about it. So, I stood up, said, "We're done," and walked out.

Probably not a good idea to piss off the only employee left who had supported you the day before your 360 review. Three days later, she boxed up her stuff and walked out the door.

The HR guy apologized to me for having to write me up.
I didn't do what I was told to do.

Basically had a horrible manager, telling everyone that everything was wrong... but didn't give any good directions of what would be right to do.

So we were in limbo... and during limbo I got behind, and was told to have a months worth of work done in a three days, which was not physically possible.

And my Manager was attempting to get me fired.

Instead, I got a promotion to a different part of the same company and everything has been smooth sailing since.

And my former manager, took a lateral into a non-manager position, which is great, as they should never be allowed to be a manager again. As they did nothing be tear everyone down, confuse us and a heck of a lot less got done.

A few times.

Nearly always because they objected to the 'tone' I'd used when giving a colleague a rocket for breaching protocols or divulging information to parties who shouldn't have it. (A sackable offence in certain circumstances)

Largely defines the job description 'Middle Management'

I fell asleep at my desk after weeks of mixed late and early shifts due to staff shortages. Ended with them being told it was affecting my health and to sort out my shift patterns

Not exactly reported, but I once got in trouble with HR for failing a random UA after having eaten edibles the previous day and had to take a leave of absence for a while before taking another (which I passed, lol).

Way too often. I think some people have it out for me. In fact I know they do, cause I was on the verge of firing not too long ago. My supervisor, another supervisor and my manager were all conspiring to get rid of me. They kept it subtle so either no one noticed or no one cared.

I haven't, but a colleague was reported once for farting so powerfully that thirteen people had cause to evacuate the building.

@Moneyonmymind Yes. It stank.

The report gives you a chance to win... and they hate that. Plus it takes up too much time. So you're at the mercy of their moods and whims.
