Sitting here topless in front of the air conditioner...

@Colonelmustardseed In this weather I don't dare to open my freezer too often...and the ice can't keep up with the amount of water I drink...but I do drink cool water all day. If I feel sticky I will hop into the shower again.

@SageWanderer I am sitting in the ONLY cool spot right now...but if I stretch out my hand behind me I can feel the hot mugginess.

It might be time for a de-humidifier.

@4meAndyou I do have a dehumidifier with my HVAC unit but it only works at a set temperature and the basement takes time to reach that combination of heat and humidity. A dehumidifier may help, at least in the last hour my house has become comfortable.

@silkydrawers I live in an apartment building with hundreds of other people. Although there is a back yard barbecue area, it's extremely public...so I'm afraid I won't be going outside with very little clothing...🤣

@UnderLockDown Thank you. He is going to leave me on Saturday, so that he can get the medical care he needs...and eventually he will be be rehomed.

@UnderLockDown He is VERY fast, and VERY skittish, and VERY diabetic. He needs a Mommy who can catch him, or sneak up on him, at least, and give him his shots. He also needs a Mommy who can afford to pay $115 a month for insulin and syringes, $120 a month for kitty litter, and $360 a month for cat food. It's possible that the cat food and kitty litter expenses might gradually decrease, once he gets his insulin. But right now, he is always hungry, always thirsty, and pees buckets...and not always where he is supposed to.

@Adrift I spent summers in Nebraska when I was a kid. I remember 102 and 103, but we didn't suffer with it because it was so dry.

@Delightfulydelectablydelicious No ceiling fan here...but I have FIVE normal fans going in the living room, one in the bathroom, and two in the bedroom!
