What popular idiom drives you crazy when you hear people say it?

Top | New | Old
"Woke", "wokest", "wokism". It makes me furious when I hear it. The word was "woke", period. It meant something very specific once, but was taken and rebranded by people with no clue where it originated or what it meant. 🙄
@bijouxbroussard I think it's really revealing to see how conservatives define 'Woke' when they're under oath:
@ElwoodBlues For people like DeSantis to still think being aware of real historical injustices is a bad thing, is telling indeed. It means he’s admitting to being a racist. But so many people who don’t think they’re racists are mis-using the term as an insult out of pure ignorance.

It is what it is
Love is love
- Game changer

"Oh, it's just Trump being Trump" followed by a shrug of the shoulders or a sheepish grin.

@NerdyPotato

LOL - - in this case, the Boy-In-Chief
- could/should/would of
- could care less

And a Dutch one as a bonus: hij/zij/het wilt
@NerdyPotato I hate "could care less" said when people mean they couldn’t care less. So many folks get that wrong.

@Picklebobble2 I used to work with a woman who said “it’ll get worse before it gets better” every single day. She’s lucky she made it to retirement.

"I could care less."

Then you still care. You mean you couldn't care less.

But, the first version is more honest usually, so I'll give them that.

It doesn't annoy I just think it's interesting when Americans say
"I'm gonna go to X place, to see if I cant do Y"
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@Matt85 Oh, so it is an X and Y factor for you, huh!
When couples are described as “loved up.” Don’t know why but that really grinds my gears.

What a nosey-parker

Said very often by my grandmother as I was growing up.

A penny for your thoughts - secretly I would be thinking, mind your own business
