Do you think human being will evolve even further?

What will that be like ? Will it be a physical evolution? or will it be on an intelligence level?
Lauren19 · 26-30, F
No, I think we've peaked. We appear to be getting stupider by the day.
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
@Lauren19 Agreed 💯
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Lauren19 nothing like peaking!
windinhishair · 61-69, M
Good question. The answer is that yes, we will continue to evolve both physically and mentally. Better knowledge of nutrition should make us taller and larger as a species. Our reliance on mechanical devices for transportation rather than walking may lead to weaker legs. As someone else noted, hand dexterity may improve due to our increased reliance on hand-held items. Our general knowledge will continue to improve over time.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@windinhishair That is such an objective look on things. I was on my way to be all negative about this and you come in with logical conclusions, completely ruined the rant 😂
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@G00GLE Thank you. There are plenty of negative things that could occur. People often assume that evolution is always for the better, but that isn't always the case.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Evolve? Have we evolved from Thomas Jefferson to Trump? From Mozart to rapcrap? From a healthy planet to one big overpopulated garbage dump? Things change. Rarely for the better. Fifty years from now the few remaining humans on the planet will be killing each other for a drink of water.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@hunkalove Yes, and they were known for their height, just like 6'11" basketball players are today. But the average height was less than it is today.
@hunkalove 2000 years is too short a timescale for evolution of humans to be detectable as genetic changes (which is the only way to detect evolution). Behaviors and abilities and physiologies we've seen over the past 500 years were all baked into our genetic pool long before.

Environment, however, such as better food supply, free time to focus on math or music, etc has allowed some of us to develop these abilities like never before.
@hunkalove
Evolve? Have we evolved from Thomas Jefferson to Trump? From Mozart to rapcrap?
From slavery, no citizenship and no vote to Barack Obama and Kamala Harris ? I’ll take it. 😳
Teirdalin · 31-35
I can see humans evolving to be less strong and have more agile hands and limbs for operating devices and machines in the far future. Eyes developing stronger protection to blue light as well. Creativity might be reduced and processing speed and memory might be increased.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@Teirdalin we are definitely weaker than our ancestors
SW-User
Nope. They are devolving, especially with each new "technological" supposed advance.
The world is to be destroyed, burnt up with fervent heat.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
No, it’s devolving instead as humans are becoming less intelligent overall. We are a food source for some advanced species on a different planet. As humans become fatter and more hairless as they have done over the last several years, the next step in the food chain will gather us like cattle and butcher us for their food supply.
Teirdalin · 31-35
@BackyardShaman just can't see that being a possibility with more effective creatures like, all our livestock, being available. Like it only takes three years for a cow to be ready for butchering.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
@Teirdalin they want the smoothest, fattest and that’s the goal. This could take longer time.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
@Renkon a bad day for sure, but it’s the logical evolution pattern.
It's not possible. Otherwise all the monkeys and chimps would have evolved as humans too.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@Peaceandnamaste
Of course. Gorillas can walk upright and chimps can make fire. Lots of them are already in politics around the world.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Diotrephes ever kiss a Gorilla in the mist?
They have the warmest wetness kiss
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@atlantic59 You have some interesting experiences.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
Some will evolve, some won't, as it's always been, we're seeing it in our daily lives even now.
I think with the coming over population of the planet with not enough food and water for everyone being born that there will be a correction at some point, not sure what that will look like though, war or famine?...
No. I don't think humanity will survive long enough to evolve any further.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@istillhaveanameitsrick I just hope fungirllmm'ss word game survives
@atlantic59 It will until the electricity runs out LOL Sadly between the wars and the coming advent of AI life will likely cease to exist within the next 100 years (maybe sooner)
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@istillhaveanameitsrick oh that's a relief. I don't have more than twenty , Woo hoo! bonus, suckers..
calicuz · 51-55, M
That's kinda what I was thinking this whole "gender thing" was all about, possibly mankind evolving.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@calicuz stawp
TexChik · F
There is no reason to suggest that we won’t . More likely it will be I. The form of adaptations .
meJess · F
Devolve into an extension of a smartphone
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@meJess it just needs a finger to.press the buttons.

@Tastyfrzz my ex had a box like that...shut down quicker than my finger
originnone · 61-69, M
I think people like me will die off and some new form that isn't so neurotic will exist.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Of course we will evolve. We have been for for over a million years
QueenOfZaun · 26-30, F
Our jaws are getting smaller. Our legs taller.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
When the technology for health and cures for diseases and to reverse damages already done is unleashed we will be able to have more potential than we ever imagined. Just think of how we will feel if we aren’t in pain or dealing with chronic medical conditions that we and family members have. It will free up so much time & energy to do things that we enjoy and to become much more productive in life. Some of these conditions cause brain fog and memory loss etc so it will help us to be able to think things out much better instead of dragging around.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MoonlightLullaby You are thinking of the current healthcare system. They’ve shot themselves in the foot and a new system is coming.
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
@cherokeepatti A new system?? So even if it's a system that cares about my well being, they're also going to magically reverse the damages and loss I've endured? It's impossible.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MoonlightLullaby you might be surprised at what is around the corner. I am not going to argue with you about this. I do know there is more than 100 years of technology that has been suppressed from the public. More ways to heal than you can shake a stick at, non-invasive ways of healing than that. So many institutions have been corrupted severely including the medical system.
We are devolving.
bookerdana · M
@Underconstruction The tribes are back
pentacorn · F
yes. humans have always and will always be evolving. it's called micro-evolution. assuming we don't kill ourselves off first, and we keep procreating, there will be new races of human beings with obvious differences to current beings
More humans are being born with a third arm artery, an example of microevolution happening right before our eyes. When we think about human evolution, we're usually pondering changes that happened over long periods of time, like the development of the fully opposable thumb or the transition to walking upright
helenS · 36-40, F
There is no real selection pressure, no survival of the fittest, so the human gene pool may gradually deteriorate.
Renkon · 36-40, M
@helenS That's very interesting thought. But it could be sad step for man kind.
helenS · 36-40, F
@Renkon No I don't think so – people like Dr. Hawkins were certainly not "fit", but of the utmost importance for mankind.
We are not animals.
wonkywinky · 51-55, M
@helenS Its already happening.Where did all this LGBTETC crap suddenly come from?
If the only acceptable sexual activity is "gay"then where are the babies coming from?
PatKirby · M
As it is now, societies are to different from each other thus creating an environment of continuing tribalism. It would take either a couple of hundred years to move from competing societies to less selfish ones amenable to unity, or the Earth itself traveling through a portion of space that held beneficial properties that improved human consciousness into the next step in our evolution.
Most will say science answers this best, but since the world wants to only celebrate what is considered good art, and how much art gives into meaning of life.... I'd say we've been devolving to constructs of ideas of order.. and any society that needs order, well? I bet a healthy post partum depression for those who believe too far into this world, including the physicists and the poets. .
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
a few people on this site will evolve. A lot of us though, are destined
for the dust bin
SW-User
I think that regression is in our future. We won't have to think as much with the use of AI
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
Isn't there a push to start building chips into us or us into chips?
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
@PhilDeep yep! Chips that make you think things like “I love working for $5.00 an hour and can’t wait to bring my 8 year old daughter to work for free and lose her virginity to the cotton mill boss”.
val70 · 51-55
Oh yes, the legs will drop off. No need from them any more
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
We now have Smaller pelvises and shorter legs.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Peaceandnamaste I know: and I have a smaller penis and a shorter attention span...
Straylight · 31-35, F
Transhumanism will see us take the reins from evolution.
wonkywinky · 51-55, M
I think Homo sapiens peaked in the 1980s.
Since then we have been going backwards, how can evolution progress when men and women arent comfortable having regular boy/girl sex anymore?
We have men wanting to become mothers, men wanting to become women.Women seeing any kind of sexual interest as rape, and call the cops if you wink at them.
Doomed.
Nopeeee its all downhill
Diotrephes · 70-79, M

ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Very probably, mostly physically.
Of course. Unless we die off, we will never stop evolving. I’m going to assume longer life (better agriculture, science, medicine) and higher intelligence (accessibility to education is reaching levels it never has historically).
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
@DavidScott do you remember the scene When they were driving a carriage past a burning building? To make the scene they burned down the large wooden gate that was used in King Kong. They were repurposing and recycling before it was cool.
in10RjFox · M
Yes.. lot to evolve.. all old relationships will end and humans will evolve into an open relationship.. free and easy living. All hegemony will end and humans will evolve to a nomadic life having no nativity.
Human1000 · M
Our brains are shrinking as we offload cognition to computers. This is our future:

Nope
Convivial · 26-30, F
Natural evolution is a long term process, i do believe it's been taken over by quicker acting social and cultural evolution... And it's a downward progression!
WandererTony · 56-60, M
Yes, we will learn more medicine, more science, and adapt to a warmer planet with lesser dependence on water, clean air and cultivable land!
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
We no longer get wisdom teeth. That’s real time evolution right there.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
No. Knowledge and some Wisdom yes. When the World Change...so as our minds.
I don't believe they ever evolved in the first place
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Evolution is always at work. It's not a thing that spontaneously happens, it is always ongoing. In a species like ours changes are going to be very slow to accrue and largely hard to notice.

Also, evolution is not always something getting better. Life doesn't have a concept of better or worse. It's merely how well adapted it is to survive in its environment. But environments also change. So what is better changes. Better here is different from better there and better now is different from better then.
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@ViciDraco mutations are continuing
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Maybe we'll get built in cell phones with 5G.
fakable · T
mutation is infinite
At the moment, humans appear to be devolving, particularly in the southeastern United States.
