What are some coping mechanism you use when you are upset?

I’m about as calm as they come…even if someone gets in my face. So, if I’m upset, somebody is bothering my family. Unless they can come to see things my way, it’s not going to end well.
Currently I just hide and cry. Sometimes I write, and I stretch daily. I'm limited right now.

@PromiseProtectionProvision I am a control freak, i need to maintain control.
@samueltyler2 Same. Sobriety helps me be less controlling of others and at the same time gives me much more self control. I'm a control freak over myself now.
I'll meditate, listen to a favorite piece of music, or stretch. Rarely have I needed to do all three.

I buy stuff, take a bath, put headphones on listen to music and cry or drink alchohol and then hate myself.

Hey, thankyou! I do find it a bit hard to think about the way I used to be and I’m using alchohol to cope a little bit, but I do have a super good community at church so I do know I’ll be ok. Your words make me want to do better. Thanks again. @PromiseProtectionProvision
@Strongtea You were a kid and more than likely had no idea what you were doing. We have ALL been there. You are a human and humans are perfectly imperfect. If ya ever have questions or would like my imput I would be more than happy to give you some pointers on what has and hasn't worked for me. Don't hesitate to shoot me a message.
