My kids hate school, how can i raise their passion about it?

Well is the school good? Is it teaching the RIGHT things or are the teachers teaching crap and trying to brainwash and condition children to think, say and do certain things for "the greater good" and or to fit certain shit narratives/agendas! While speaking out against them gets you sent to the headteachers office, detention or whatever.

Do schools only teach what they get told to teach..to make people dumb, brainwashed, conditioned and to forget things and NOT ASKING QUESTIONS..

Is it really the best for them or would ur children be better in a good school hat actually teached things we REALLY need to know and not make people grow up to be like sheep/dodo's/slaves! Maybe teaching them yourself would be best and mot this woke bullshit getting preached..

@PrincessRoarBuddy That's a really good point you bring up, and I also wonder how this new curriculum will affect the future of education.

I hated school, nothing would have made me like it. They don’t have to be passionate about it, they just have to understand the purpose and accept it’s non-negotiable. Also having friends helps a million times so do things to help with friendships
I despised school... Rampant bullying that was never effectively dealt with in the long term, sexual abuse, lack of privacy (male PE teacher walking through the girls changing room while I was getting changed - and they accused me of having a crush on [big]him[/big]. I wasn't walking through the boys changing rooms when he was getting changed.

Sometimes, there's little you can do to make school more enjoyable - at least, no one did for me anyway.
@HootyTheNightOwl You should have reported the gym teacher to the Sheriff.
@NativePortlander1970 Oh, I told my mother, but nobody cared at the time...

Nobody even cared that this same gym teacher could have busted a pupil who was raping and sexually abusing other pupils.

By the time that I went to the head to stop it... there were 30 known children across two year groups that had been raped or abused by this guy - all in school time and all on school property.

The school couldn't even decide if they were responsabile because some of my assaults happened in the school hall at the end of the day (after school club - with no supervision provided for pupils who remained on school premises)... and during lunch break - despite the fact that we were locked in and could only run so far to escape being abused.
@HootyTheNightOwl Then if the county sheriff refused to act, your mother should have notified the state police and state education department, that's how most schools get busted when the locals refuse to act.

I hated school too. I was bullied by students and teachers alike. I don't think there's anything my parents could have done to change it.

I think every kid hates school, there’s nothing you can do about it 😂. Best you can do is teach them the consequences of failing school .
Dv8rs · 18-21, F
First you need to find out exactly why they hate school, are the being bullied, they don't get what the teacher is saying, or they just don't like going. Once you find out why, you can talk to the teacher, and ask them what you can do.
Rolexeo · 26-30, M
You can get them interested in learning, reading. But they hate school cause of how schools are run. It sucks the joy out of learning. Idk what to do about that outside of homeschooling.
Strict4u · 56-60, M
I hated school too get them interested in sports they will have to maintain a passing grade to keep playing
hunkalove · 61-69, M
I hated every moment I ever spent in a classroom. So incredibly boring. And I'm a college graduate.
Find out why they hate it. Asking them usually works, then you can decide what to do
looping · 18-21
give them money for doing well or something
Convivial · 26-30, F
Hard one.. Depends on their age really, but they have to understand why it's important, to either work where they and how they want it to end up in boring low paying jobs
Don't lie to them.
Maybe you can't.
School is dangerous, not based in effective education methods.
They could die there.
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
homeschooling and avoiding the scourge of leftist totalitarian indoctrination.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@therighttothink50 For a moment I was offended by that comment but a moment later I realised how funny it is because it sounds so ridiculous.
"Scourge of leftists totalitarian indoctrination" Like Adolf Hitler is taking over.

Conservatives get SO bent out of shape. 🤣
DiegoWolfe · 36-40

Model learning for them.
Try reading a book and let them see you doing so…
I'd try to find out what they enjoy doing and maybe incorporate it into there schooling.
Reward them for good grades or when they good marks on their report card.
HannahSky · F
Kids are usually happy when they have success in school
Find that one teacher who connects with them and ask their secret
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
So are your kids enjoying this school year any better?
justlooking2023 · 56-60, M
Find movies or shows related to things they learn in school?
You can't. Just don't force them beyond a limit.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
take them out of it and teach them yourself
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
Take their cell phones away from them.
Muthafukajones · 46-50, M
Do you read to them before bed?

Threaten to have @PrincessRoarBuddy and @therighttothink50 teach them fascist BS instead. 😆
CestManan · 46-50, F
@LordShadowfire Don't you think school is boring enough as it is without princess going there to ramble mindlessly to them? 😄
MethDozer · M
It's only normal and natural they hate school. It's basically prison.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@MethDozer I never been incarcerated but yeah from stories I have heard or read, school is a watered down version of prison.
Go back to your own childhood and look at how things were for you. There are mainly three things why kids hate school, either it's the teacher, they do play favorites, the other students, whether it's peer pressure or bullying, or they're just plain bored and don't feel challenged enough. Talk to your kid to find out why.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@NativePortlander1970
or they're just plain bored and don't feel challenged enough.
The school admins often say that about kids who are not doing well. I think that is the biggest crock of crap ever. If someone is already failing, "challenging" them more isn't going to help.
Kind of like if someone is out of shape and cannot run an eight minute mile. It is not going to help by then expecting them to do it in seven minutes.

People can reason and speculate all they want - the fact is that school just sucks.
@CestManan Montessoris, also known as schools for gifted children, are full of students that were sent there by regular schools when they were assessed of not being challenged enough, I was recommended to be sent to one at the beginning of third grade in 1978 when a statewide IQ test in Oregon was done and I scored 148. The only reason why I didn't go was because my parents couldn't afford the tuition and it was too late in the year to apply for a scholarship. Later that year we moved to the next small city eight miles away, and even though it was in the same county, it was a separate school district than the one I was in, my new teacher refused to recognize my work from my previous school, despite having the same workbooks, she made me not only made me start from the beginning, but keep up with the current work as well, having to do double homework every night, which turned me from loving school to hating it within a month. By 6th grade I was outright refusing do do any homework, which pissed off my teachers, but despite that, I still aced tests and surprise quizzes, much to their puzzlement. So yes, many kids are bored and do poorly in school because of various things, among them is not being challenged enough.
