There was an inexpensive candy called a black ball. 3 for a penny. They were also called jaw breakers. If you let them melt in your mouth they'd last and last because there were many layers of candy. Well, my older sister told me if I wanted those candies without having to pay for them then I should plant the seed that was in the center of the diminished black ball. So I did... hey, I was like 4 yrs old.

when i was little i had these paper masks that you tied on with a string or ribbon. they were disney cartoons like mickey mouse's face or snow white face, etc. and i remember wearing a mask and going to the side of the road waving at cars going by like i was in disneyland. i believed i looked like that character to the cars going by and thats why they waved back.
My aunt told me the power windows in her car used brake fluid so if I used the windows too much the car couldn’t stop. 🤣 my mom would always point out an older man at the grocery store telling me he’s the bogeyman if I didn’t behave he would get me. Scared the heck out of me. 🤣

I don’t know if it’s so strange, but I used to think there was some evil beings waiting to come in my window at night. I’d always check the window lock - sometimes more than once. The rest of the house could be wide open but not my window.
That if your horrible older brother karate chopped you often enough in the forehead, it would burst all the blood vessels in your head and blood would collect on top of your cheek bones giving you a massive set of panda eyes for the rest of your life. One, two, three, four....
I had an imaginary friend who lived in a drain pipe, but that probably isn't so strange; most kids have them at some point. That when I grew up and was an adult, I could do anything, accomplish anything. Also probably not unique or strange, but a hoot.
Probably the unique thing was the belief that all I needed was a typewriter to write better children's books than Dick And Jane. I remember my last spanking, at age 6, was for demanding a typewriter a couple of times too many.

If I died in a dream, I wouldn’t wake up. That’s what all the kids thought growing up by me. Once I was older and could manipulate my lucid dreams, I tested it out 🤣
That it's possible to accidentally swallow a needle. Like you're holding it one second and suddenly it somehow gets into your mouth and you're at a risk of swallowing it. 😆 For real, there was some period of my life when I was anxious about handling needles.

@Justmeraeagain I had it for some time as a child but I simply thought that if I didn't do that something bad would happen. Usually that my parents might die. It was pure OCD for me. My family isn't even religious and never was.

That monsters and mythical beings were real but lived on like another dimensional plane so ordinary people couldn't see or interact with them, similar to ghosts.
I believed that from 8-13.
