Pros
I'm relatively tall, which has always been a benefit to me.
I have been told on occasion that I am handsome, but YVMV, and that was when I wasn't *old.*
I have what I think is a great voice, which must have some genetic component.
I like to think that I've always been smart, if not wise, which also must have a genetic component.
Cons
It seems I have inherited most of my parents' health issues.
I have always been clumsy as hell. I have the dexterity of a brick.
I'm pretty sure that I inherited my dad's mean streak and temper, but I don't know how much of that is nature vs. nurture.
I had always believed that I would be able to go into my twilight years at least with a full head of hair. Apparently, though, that belief was unwarranted.
I am habitually lazy. This has always been true. I have always hated exercise and physical labor. Is this a genetic issue? I mean, it may have something to do with the tumor on my pituitary gland, but does that make it genetic?

Obviously, good genes on aging. Still haven't reached my parents' ages, but getting there. Curiously, the two cancers I'm currently fighting aren't in those genes. No history of cancer in my family, and DNA shows no genetic predisposition.
The most obvious bad would be a predisposition to Rheumatic Fever -- an aunt died of it in her 20's before antibiotics -- as it cost me four years of bedrest as a pre-adolescent. Otoh, that four years shaped a lot of my intellectual & academic curiosity while costing me important years of socializing with peers, so I consider it more of a push.

I have a lot to be thankful for genetically
Just yesterday I received an unsolicited compliment from someone that I had an appointment with
She hadn't seen me in a while, and she said that she likes my distinguished handsome look that I have developed
My biggest con is that I have an aggressive reckless side to me that has burned me in the past

Gifts: Like most in my family, I have some musical talent and artistic ability. I inherited relatively manageable hair from my mother, and I’ve aged slowly.
Curses: I’m sensitive and have a long memory, grudge-wise.
Just like I inherited my mother’s hair type I got her onyx eyes, and those eyes are quite myopic. I’m the only one of her kids who wore glasses like she did.
I also inherited the tendency towards diabetes from that side.

I feel like I'm generically neutral 😂 I was gifted great eyes though. Definitely the most complicated feature I have.

@KentuckyFriedFloozy haha to be fair, I have ADHD as well and at times I think it's been a huge positive for me. It definitely led to some struggles but also I think is a big reason for my success. It just took awhile for be to learn how to use it for good and not slacking off / chasing squirrels 😂 With that being said, it can be different for everyone and a harder struggle for sure
KentuckyFriedFloozy · 26-30, F
@Turtlepower teach me lol
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@KentuckyFriedFloozy I'm sure it's different for everyone but rather than forcing myself to focus on one task at work, I routinely have multiple I can swap to for when I lose focus and interest. Personal life takes more effort because it's ok to relax and veg out sometimes but yeah that's a huge oversimplification but I need things to jump to that help me not jump to worse or less productive things lol

Eherm.... my height, metabolism, amongst other things haha. They're definitely gifts and curses depending on the situation. I have to duck under doorways and don't fit in airplanes well. But it's great for playing basketball and cleaning above kitchen cabinets haha

I think the pituitary tumor could definitely be a genetic possibility.

Shortness (4'9"): gave me an advantage in gymnastics and many other sports.
Shortness: stopped me from becoming a ballerina or getting at the chocolate digestives in the overhead kitchen cupboard.

"Haha, well, I think I've been genetically gifted with a good sense of humor and the ability to make people laugh. As for being cursed, I'd say I've got a bit of a sweet tooth and can never say no to dessert. But I think the biggest curse of all is being unable to stop thinking about a certain someone..." 🤭

I’m tall (6’2”) and slender, (181lbs), that’s good, but I’m also whiter than Michael Jackson and burn like the devil in the sun. I can’t be out on a beach for more than 20 minutes without a 1/2” thick smear of sunscreen.
The ability to say bye, that gift I use today

@Royricky09 I'll probably end up looking a lot younger than I am when I get older because I'm almost a clone of my mom and she looks almost half her age.
My eyes, I guess my figure to a degree even though I work hard on it as well. My sense of humor. My gift of gab.
Cons: I got adhd from somebody lol.

Gifts:
A reasonably functional mind.
Decent health.
An at least somewhat thoughtful heart -- or so I've been told, once in a while. Not sure if that's genetic or not.
Curses:
Ugly as a mud fence.
