So far we have Denmark/Greenland, Panama, Palestine/Gaza, Mexico, Columbia, Canada, Egypt, Jordan, and the list just keeps growing, and all within a month of taking office.

It's hatred (and fear) of MAGA, not Americans.

To be fair to the Trumpsters, they are pretty blatant at not caring. It's kind of the point of 'America First.'

The way for the last eighty years has been for America to be at the head of a system of alliances and this is what was best for American capitalism.

Because America is in relative decline, it can't be a world hegemon but has decided that there are more gains to be had by dominating and exploiting former allies. It's not actually crazy because there is a rationale behind all of this. Though it is bad for the world generally.

Let let you in on a secret everyone has always disliked America! Even after we stormed the beaches at Normandy and lost all those men. Do you know they didn’t want us to bury some of the men in their country? And those men died fighting for them!

@Lucia Actually, no, Europeans didn't see the US that way. Perhaps a few did, but not the majority.
Lucia · 36-40
@Pambie Well your statement and my statements are subjective. It's cool, you don't have to take my word for it. But throughout my entire life the US has been deemed wrong in a handful of areas: Climate and the second Iraq war to be exact.

It started to change, in my experience, with US. Just because someone bickers a bit doesn't mean they doesn't like you. Look at how Indonesian opinions of the US dramatically increased after the boxing day tsunami in 2004 where US warships were redirected to help with clean water, hospitals etc.

I think a lot of them are putting us in the temporary insanity category and there will be room to repair if we don't double down in the next election. Time will tell. But we've already been incredibly weakened and he hasn't even had a month yet
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@Pambie I'm not at that level of doomerism yet. He's going to fuck a lot up and it's going to take a while to recover. But nothing he's doing now has lasting power because he's acting without congress. We'll see how it goes.

Honestly, he's taking a lot of inspiration from the Gilded Age. We'll see if he triggers a depression. We might finally get another FDR figure out of this when the pendulum swings the other way.

@ViciDraco I'm kinda in the doomer phase not gonna lie. I think you're right though, he is making a lot of decisions without Congress but what worries me is him firing fed employees, letting Elon raid our Treasury and other things are concerning.

How long has the US been picking up the tab for NATO? and the UN?

If you think they hate the US now, wait until Trump closes all the military bases in their countries.

Everyone needs to review the conflict between the US and France over NATO. Following WW2, US paychecks to our military in France was used by the French to exchange for gold. Eisenhower responded by drawing down military forces in France to a minimum. France responded by ordering NATO bases off of French soil. In France's eyes, NATO had less to do with military defenses and everything to do with the monies US service members were pouring into the French economy.

Trump has successfully spun this narrative that he’s getting rid of the corruption that is victimizing the US. It’s a common practice of your typical elementary bully who wants to justify throwing their ego around. It’s very appealing to adult children who love to be victims and can’t get enough of their own idea of justice for the sake of their hurt feelings. Obviously people on the receiving end of the crybaby with a big stick aren’t going to be happy. Let’s just hope he doesn’t hit a hornet’s nest.
How many freeloaders are getting reset..

The systems screwed..
and the media has turned the one person of our generation who wants to fix it into the bad guy

All of those countries should cut all diplomatic and economic relations with the USA wthin the next 10 hours, including Colombia (not Columbia).
Pambie · 22-25, F
@Diotrephes The English spelling is 'Columbia'.
ffony · M
@Pambie "Colombia" is the correct spelling for the South American country located at the northern tip of the continent."

Kim Jong Un, president of North Korea, reportedly scolded Trump for disregarding human rights in his remarks about Gaza 🤣
@SunshineGirl Talk about a case of "the worst person you know just made a great point."
Khenpal1 · M
@SunshineGirl Trump is about to put South Korea on bad guys list from April 15th. Asia is also turning away from USA.
