Let let you in on a secret everyone has always disliked America! Even after we stormed the beaches at Normandy and lost all those men. Do you know they didn’t want us to bury some of the men in their country? And those men died fighting for them!

Not true. France has been welcoming to the burial of US soldiers in its territory, including after World War I and World War II.

Some countries hate the US, for a good reason, but even the countries we attempted to bomb into oblivion, such as Vietnam, welcome us.

I don't expect the countries that continue to bomb to love us.

Generally speaking, with a few exceptions, welcomed me and loved Americans.

@Northwest no actually France didn’t want us to bury them there and yes foreigners typically don’t like America.

Question to Google: did france not want US soldiers buried in france?

Answer:

No, France granted the United States the use of land in perpetuity for American cemeteries in France.

Explanation

The French government gave the land for the cemeteries free of charge and taxation.
The French government granted the United States a special concession to the land.
The United States is responsible for maintaining the cemeteries.
The American Battle Monuments Commission manages the cemeteries.
The Normandy American Cemetery is one of the permanent American World War II military cemeteries on foreign soil. It's located on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach, east of St. Laurent-sur-Mer. The cemetery contains the graves of over 9,000 American War Dead.
The French government has granted the United States similar concessions for other overseas American cemeteries in France for World War I and II.

But, as usual, you're reading fake news, specifically the story that France Unburies American Dead, which was debunked by https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/france-unburies-american-dead/

and yes foreigners typically don’t like America.

You need to get out more often and engage people from other countries/cultures. You might stop being MAGA, when you discover the world is not out to get you.

I've been all over the globe and with the exception of a couple of places, where a custom official was overzealous, and even there, the people were friendly and welcoming. Get out of Texas (or try visiting Austin, Houston or San Antonio - I recommend all three places, stay clear of the Gov Mansion)

@specman You do of course realise that it wasn't just US troops that "stormed the beaches" in Normandy you know. What about the British and Canadians who were there? No mention of them? Are you seriously suggesting, as many Yanks do, that you lot won World War 2 all on your own? How about giving credit where it's due (which is primarily to the USSR, who actually won the war against Germany)?

MAGAs don't have a full grasp of history, and think that we did it all by ourselves during WWII.

Perhaps they only know history through glorified Hollywood tales, that focuses on patriotism because it sells.

Of course there were Canadians, Brits, Australians and New Zealanders (last 2 through their air force), were in Normandy.

Stalin sacrificed millions of troops toward winning the war against Germany, but a couple of points to be fair to history:

Stalin partnered up with Hitler when the war started, and jointly occupied Poland, with the Soviet Union committing the first round of atrocities of WWII, The Katyn massacre was a series of mass executions of nearly 22,000 Polish military and police officers at the hands of the Soviet Union.

Stalin did not change course, until Operation Barbarossa.

Perhaps the Soviets contributed the most when it comes to human cost, but the Soviet Union did not contribute the most toward "winning" the war.

Objectively speaking, the US unleashing its economic and industrial power, is what ultimately won the war.

Half the Soviet Union WWII air force was supplied by the USA. And a substantial portion of the Soviet armor was either directly in the USA, or manufactured in the Soviet Union using technology transfer and engineering supplied by the USA.

While De Gaulle. on August 25, 1945 declared from the Hotel De Ville that France was liberated by the French, it was a group of US soldiers, Spanish Republicans, and French resistance that had already finished liberating Paris on Aug 24. You can still see all the placards on the side of buildings in Paris, commemorating where the soldiers fell.

@specman The US was doing pretty good until Bush started wars and destabilized the Middle east

@specman I beg to differ. The vast majority in northern europe saw the United States as a legitimate guarantor of peace, prosperity, democracy, freedom and decency - regardless of flaws.

The loudest are not always the most majority.

But this is changing. Big time.

@Lucia Actually, no, Europeans didn't see the US that way. Perhaps a few did, but not the majority.

@Pambie Well your statement and my statements are subjective. It's cool, you don't have to take my word for it. But throughout my entire life the US has been deemed wrong in a handful of areas: Climate and the second Iraq war to be exact.

It started to change, in my experience, with US. Just because someone bickers a bit doesn't mean they doesn't like you. Look at how Indonesian opinions of the US dramatically increased after the boxing day tsunami in 2004 where US warships were redirected to help with clean water, hospitals etc.
