Why do you think tens of millions of Americans support a fascist candidate…

Poll - Total Votes: 24
They focus on the innocuous policies they favor and accept a calculated risk
They are truly receptive to the fascist core that Trumpism presents to them

I'd argue he's not a fascist but a new authoritarian.

People should read Mesthartiya's article.

The comparison to make is. nor Mussolini but Viktor Orban

Calling Trump a fascist is counter-productive.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Burnley123 finally a comparison that makes sense .

@Jake966 Thanks! As your article points out, it was the SF PD who operated the lab, not the SF DA. Was anyone in the DA's office sanctioned for withholding evidence? Particularly anyone named Harris??

Let's hear what Harris has to say:
"No excuses," Harris told the Washington Post. "The buck stops with me."

When asked why she had not implemented a Brady policy across her six-year tenure in the office, Harris said she had worked to implement it for about two years but did not complete the guidelines over complications regarding police personnel information, according to the outlet.

"I cared a lot about working out a Brady policy. … I was saying in my office, we have to have one. It was a big controversy," she told WaPo. "We were working on this, and it was much too slow. It took too long."

Fox News Digital reached out to the campaign for additional comment on the matter.

Harris' office did implement a Brady policy following the scandal, which she said was subsequently lauded as "a model" for other district attorneys.

"It took too long to implement, but I am proud we implemented a Brady policy in the D.A.’s office that was later called ‘a model for other jurisdictions’" by the California Supreme Court, Harris said in a comment to the Wall Street Journal in 2019.

Harris owned it, took responsibility. Have you EVER heard Trump take responsibility for ANYTHING in this way???
Jake966 · 56-60, M
@ElwoodBlues in the article it states the DA’s office violated the defendants constitutional rights
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
They don't even know what his policies are because he doesn't know what they are. One day he's against early voting, the next day he's warning "the base" to vote early. One day John Kelly is one of the best there is, the next day he's dumb as a rock. One day he's against goods made in China, the next day he is hawking an overpriced bible with his imprint that is made in China.

As they are led to slaughter, "the base" will claim no has made their lives better than disgraced Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump as they donate their last dime for his personal use.

He's an old-school fascist with a twist of trump.
Tarnished · 26-30, M
What makes it fascist?
CedricH · M
@SumKindaMunster Deflect? Deflecting is something you do actively. I passively ignored it. There‘s a difference.
Shaveit · 61-69, M
@Tarnished that’s a great question! Too bad these dumbocrats don’t know. That is what has been “ruling” for the last 4 years….
@CedricH I am surmising that Germany is violating its own truth in reporting laws while defaming Trump with all the lies you're repeating from your own media.
HobNoblin · 36-40, M
Are the fascists in the room with us now?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
3. They don't care to listen to the lying media and their confederates and can see with their own eyes that he is not a Fascist. Just like we could see Joe Biden's senility and the heart damage caused by the mRNA Covid vaccines.
@SumKindaMunster No sources. I can't say I'm surprised...

And I'll counter with one sourced argument, where for once the SCOTUS realised what the Republicans were doing in trying to restrict voting in heavily Democratic Butler County.

https://www.reuters.com/legal/us-supreme-court-wont-block-pennsylvania-provisional-ballots-decision-2024-11-01/

You won't catch Dems doing that.

Offering money to vote? Two words for you: Elon Musk

And as for the SCOTUS, we all know what McConnell did with Merrick Garland.

I also think it's clear, particularly with the slew of fake Republican polls showing Trump surging ahead, that the Republicans are laying the groundword to reject the result whether Kamala wins by 272 to 268, or wins in a convincing landslide.

Biden just called Trump supporters "garbage"
which he then immediately clarified and apologised, but Harris did the right thing and distanced herself from his comments.

Puerto Rico a floating isle of garbage? Trump may not have said it, but you won't catch him apologising for that.

Finally, attack enemies? If Trump somehow wins, I think we're all going to find out exactly what that means.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Mesthartiya "No sources" he whines...then posts multiple things...with no sources...

No source.

No source.

Of course grown adults don't need a "source" for an opinion. A source is not necessary when the information is well known, or easily discovered.

Quoting a source is really only necessary in a public debate in 2 circumstances.

1. You are directly quoting somebody
2. You are sourcing specific data to make your point.
@SumKindaMunster No, quoting a source is necessary when you are stating something as fact.

As in:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/elon-musks-1-million-a-day-election-giveaway-sparks-legal-doubts/ar-AA1sE6Ur (undermining electoral integrity)

And:

https://time.com/6074707/republicans-courts-congress-mcconnell/ (Republicans, not Democrats, packing the SCOTUS)

My comment about Trump refusing to accept defeat is my own opinion, but we all know it's true.
Jake966 · 56-60, M
Not sure how you call Trump a fascist after experiencing the last four years
@Jake966 says
if you want to know what Harris did in California has district attorney she tried eight cases.
Source???

According to the NY Post
The Alameda County DA’s office sent The Post a list of more than 60 names they said Harris had prosecuted during her time there.

A DA or an AG would not be in the courtroom, they would be directing other lawyers, suggesting legal strategies and relevant case law. As a DA and an AG Harris would have contributed to hundreds of cases.
Jake966 · 56-60, M
@ElwoodBlues you need to hear the interview with Judge Joe Brown. Also the interview with the lady who was a good friend of hers when she was DA.
@Jake966 And I should listen to a contempt-of-court former Tennessee judge about a California DA because why??

Yep, ol' Joe Brown was jailed for contempt of court after his TV show was cancelled!!
We are told Brown showed up to Juvenile Court Monday and agreed to represent someone pro bono in a child support case.

Juvenile Court Magistrate Harold Horne denied Brown’s request for the case to be dismissed.

Brown then reportedly lost control and became verbally abusive saying in part, “On what authority do you sit by the way? As a former judge here, we have a rule in the 30th judicial district that says every single magistrate, referee has to be unanimously approved by every circuit, chancery, and criminal court judge. I don’t recall that your name’s ever been submitted sir!”

Horne warned Brown to calm down, but he did not.

Brown was given 24 hours in jail for contempt of court, but that increased to five days when he continued to yell as he was being removed from the courtroom saying, “This is a circus sir. That’s three days. You can do all you want! Four days. You don’t have the jurisdiction. Five days.”

Brown’s television show was cancelled last year and he is now running for Shelby County District Attorney against Amy Weirich.
https://wreg.com/news/judge-joe-brown-arrested/

One more thing: in 2014 he ran for DA in Shelby County.
He lost the general election to Republican incumbent Amy Weirich by 65% to 35%, after making comments about her sexuality.

If Donald Trump is a fascist, then tell me why when people go now to vote Republican voting machine automatically Democrat for them when they’re clearly pushing the Republican spot. This has been recorded on peoples cell phones, and it is not fake. People are posting it on the web.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Jake966 I don't think you know what a fascist is.
Jake966 · 56-60, M
@CountScrofula I do and I think liberals are taking it completely out of context when they compare it to Donald Trump, who wants to better America and make a better America for everyone not just him and his family
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Jake966 This is definitely not happening just like Italian satellites or Chinese-made thermostats were NOT doing the same thing in the last election.

Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump wants to keep himself out of jail for crimes he has committed.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Hard to find a Politician in any country not promoting the "It's all the fault of the (select as per your pet hate choice) foreigners; benefit claimants; bust businessmen; economic migrants; media; illegals; multiple children households; 'Leftists'; 'Commies';....

No evolution in politics anywhere.
Just pet hatists looking for a vote.

Is a meme all you can come up with? If you had brought a meme to a political debate in the 2000s, you would‘ve been seen as a mere political satirist, uninterested in any real discussion. It‘s unfortunate how times have changed.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
I have not seen any, I have seen people use the word a lot but seems people don't really know what it means.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@CedricH Maybe Google what fascism means.
CedricH · M
@Subsumedpat Oh I know the meaning of the word, I just don’t know what you mean by “you haven’t seen any” any… what?
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@CedricH There are no candidates I would call fascist . Hitler is long gone.
. It's a few things

Misinformed/under-informed
One issue voters who don't care
Don't understand what fascism is, don't have a grasp of history
Misogyny
Racism
Party loyalty at any cost
The opposite of fascist was communist. You ain't no reds! You vored for endless wars and poverty, ecocide.
Good question. I have no idea why anyone would support Harris. That has always baffled me.

I think millions of Americans did in the last election.

A "fascist candidate". Who? Harris?
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I'd argue that Trump isn't a fascist at heart. Trump's relationship to fascism is more that he sees it as a way to appeal to certain segments of the crowd. At the end of the day, he's all about what benefits himself. He's only going to be fascist if he gets to be the one in charge.

The term fascism comes loaded with ideology. And while the man may make appeals to it, I really don't think he embraces the ideology.

That's not a defense of him though. If anything its worse.
@ViciDraco Give it up, everyone is getting tired and bored with your rhetoric
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@NativePortlander1970 Speak for your self, I find his rhetoric sparkling and clever!
Considering that the establishment media is turning on her in droves, the fascist will be losing on tuesday.

@carpediem Fixing your country? I didn‘t know that Congress would retroactively impeach Donald Trump on November the 5th. That would be the first fix to prevent the ascendance of a fascist in the US.

@Dino11 How many thousands of people have been killed from the Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump/Pence COVID deaths? By the Cry-Baby-trump inspired insurrection? By the purposeful killing of the strong and beautiful border security bill. Deaths...?
