Poll - Total Votes: 24

What makes it fascist?
CedricH · 22-25, M
@Tarnished The agenda Trump is presenting in interviews and rallies—political violence, suspension of the Constitution, suspension of civil liberties, unchecked presidential power, censorship of the media, imprisonment of opposition leaders, execution of people for nonviolent crimes, and legal immunity for the president and his thugs—isn’t just close to fascism. It is fascism. It’s what fascists have advocated and practiced in other countries.
Tarnished · 26-30, M
@CedricH I'd argue that just sounds authoritarian.
CedricH · 22-25, M
@Tarnished And I‘d argue that ultranationalist authoritarianism in a popular age is quintessentially fascism.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@CedricH Democrats in general and Harris specifically have engaged is several of these mentioned behaviors. Is this based on some sort of accounting system? Is it that Thump is more fascist than Harris? Kind of a valuation thing...
CedricH · 22-25, M
@GerOttman No they did not “both“ engage in the mentioned behavior. It‘s not even accurate to call it behavior. It‘s a distinct political worldview. It‘s a worldview instinctively appreciated by Trump. He has made fascism palatable to millions of Americans in a way that that is deeply disturbing.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@CedricH You exhibit the blindness of a true believer! Argument and facts are useless against your own delusion!
CedricH · 22-25, M
@GerOttman It‘s sad how you‘re thoughtlessly projecting your own predilections onto others. Remember, it is you who‘s recklessly ignoring the danger this man poses instead of being a virtuous defender of democracy and political liberalism in the classical sense. People like yourself are the reason why freedom and democracy may still wither and die in once free and open societies.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@CedricH Yeah, yeah, and your mother too!
CedricH · 22-25, M
@GerOttman Excuse me?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@CedricH Yeah yeah, you know what else is sad? Western Europeans so propagandized by Western media that they feel compelled to virtue signal their beliefs and punch down on anyone who disagrees.
CedricH · 22-25, M
@SumKindaMunster I enjoy reading the Wall Street Journal, the National Review or Commentary Magazine, traditional conservative outlets. And once Trumpism is banished to the fringes of the political arena again, center-right individuals like myself will take back the Republican Party from a usurping, authoritarian wannabe dictator.

@SumKindaMunster I couldn’t be more indifferent to your notion of who deserves your respect. Have you even considered that I could be an American citizen, living in Germany at the moment? No, you haven’t because you are a shallow bigot.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@CedricH Oh I can tell. You certainly don't want to engage with someone who will call you out on your hypocrisy, propaganda and poor behavior. I'm sure you'd much rather continue to punch down to help pump up your sagging self esteem.

Anything else? You clearly don't want to discuss the subject of your post.
CedricH · 22-25, M
@SumKindaMunster Oh please, you‘re the one who immediately went off topic when you joined this conversation but you could actually contribute something substantive to this comment section by laying out some of the reasons which lead you to believe that your candidate doesn’t meet the criteria of a fascist.

This was your entry comment when you started commenting on this particular thread. Absolutely disconnected from the issue at hand, so it‘s no surprise that my response wasn’t on topic either.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@CedricH No, it wasn't. That was my comment to you on another thread here because I don't like your premise, nor the way you are engaging with people on here. You're clearly not paying attention.
CedricH · 22-25, M
@SumKindaMunster That‘s your prerogative. If you‘d be paying any attention, you‘d find various posts from me here in response to other commentators in which I enumerate the various traits and characteristics that make Trump a fascist and Trumpism an American version of fascism. You‘re invited to reply to those.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@CedricH Oh I saw them. That's why I made my own comment. Which you ignored and are trying to deflect from.
CedricH · 22-25, M
@SumKindaMunster Deflect? Deflecting is something you do actively. I passively ignored it. There‘s a difference.
Shaveit · 61-69, M
@Tarnished that’s a great question! Too bad these dumbocrats don’t know. That is what has been “ruling” for the last 4 years….
@CedricH I am surmising that Germany is violating its own truth in reporting laws while defaming Trump with all the lies you're repeating from your own media.
