"The laptop the DOJ is trying to bury" is not factual information indicating a crime has been committed.

"His old business partner has documents" is not factual information indicating a crime has been committed.

Might I suggest reading and understanding the definition of the word "fact" as well as what constitutes "evidence". Hint: Random speculation is not in either definition.

There is a subtle difference. "Legal" refers to everything having to do with the law, not just whether a particular action is within the law. "Lawful" is a subset of this, referring only to actions allowed by law. If something is "lawful," it is also "legal," but John is a lawyer, you wouldn't say "he is a member of the lawful profession." You would say "John is a member of the legal profession." If you were in Nevada, and Betty is a prostitute, you could say "she is in a lawful profession" because prostitution is legal in Nevada.

But if you are talking about an action, "legal" and "lawful" are synonyms:

"Heroin is illegal in California" vs. "using marijuana is legal in California, but selling it without a medical license is unlawful."

The people arrested during the George Floyd protests have been treated more harshly than the Jan. 6 rioters, who in many cases received shorter sentences for the same crimes. But you won't hear about this from the biased sources you follow.

Who is this "they" who say nothing will happen for another 5 to 7 years? You forget that some of these investigations go back two years already. Trump will obviously try to drag things out as long as possible, but I doubt it will be that long given how far along some of these investigations are. I suspect we'll see more activity this year. It isn't surprising that people want to be very thorough, and they should be, but these are running in parallel, not sequentially.
