A pipeline to bring Canadian tar sand crude to refineries in the US did not start anything, since it wouldn't even come on board for a decade and is a small part of the global market. Amazingly, global market forces, including a war in Ukraine, drive global market prices. Incredible, I know The reality is that both Biden and Trump had very little impact on domestic gas prices, just like previous presidents have had, and future presidents will.
