its very telling that the majority of the people who dont like what you have to say arent responding with a counterargument to the issue, only a personal attack, or just not even understanding anything you are saying but making some noise anyways lol
Or to have healthcare for children that wont put their parents in debt for the rest of their lives.
Or to have higher quality education.
Or to be able to enter into a market where big business is made to pay its due to its workers.
Or really anything other than being born. As if life in a system that raises you on the bare minimum just to pick you to the bone, like how we produce the animals we eat, is some big fucking prize.
@sunsporter1649 If someone is targeting children they don’t want to do it with an armed staff. In Oklahoma it’s legal for staff to be armed and no one but school authorities know which ones are armed
@Graylight no one is arguing that there is an unlimited right to own any weapon you choose... for example, you cannot go out and just purchase a machine gun.
are you familiar with this? A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
@boudinMan if you think that then that's because your falling into the trap most Conservatives do which is when they can't articulate a genuine argument they either insult people or try to dismiss people based on nothing
@boudinMan Are you familiar with this? Those words meant absolutely nothing for 70 years until 2008.
The US Constitution isn't your Ultimate Rights pamphlet. It's a document that outlines the framework of a new nation. It's been changed in the past, it'll be changed again. Guns aren't and American right absolutely.
So you think that dealing with the gun issue in Washington will actually connect in some way how America at a national level will view its rights? I'm sorry, but politicking is about the art of the possible always and not wishful thinking
@val70 Labour supporters didn't want trump to win at all, only reason he did was he brainwashed enough older people to believe that corbyn was an antisemite
@val70 that's how the capitalist system works and always has. Distracts people with flashing and spectacular images so society convinces itself that it's needs and interests are the same as the people running the system which is just nonsense. The Conservatives knew that corbyn was a threat and gaining popularity so they had to do every dirty trick possible to demonise him and they are doing the same now with mick lynch and other union leaders because they are showing people what the government is really about which is profit over people
No attempts, huh?! The ideas aren't missing...leftists' acceptance of the ideas is missing.
- improved mental health treatments - improved counseling at schools - make/allow schools crack down harder on bullies (allow victims to fight back!) - eliminate the "gun free zones" that make schools fish in a barrel - allow armed teachers/guards at schools - monitor/protect schools like govt buildings are protected. - stricter punishments for offenders
@easterniowegin I don't care if it is or isn't normal, I've seen none of you expressing yourselves against this, you're all tacitly complacent.
This proves the only point that needs to be proven and that is relevant in this thread: you couldn't care less about lives - actually all the opposite, you're only after controlling women. Nothing more and nothing less.
@Elessar You're painting w a very broad brush, but that's what emotions do. There are plenty who allow exceptions for rape. Regardless, there should still be harsh penalties for the adults here.
You think it would "care about lives" to kill the baby, at every opportunity?
@Mathers what efforts have you seen made to limit access to assaukt-style weapons, to keeping weapons out of the hands of those unable to use them properly? I am a life member of the NRS for m my boy scout years. We had to pass a test before we could even shoot a 22 long single action rifle! We had to memorize the 10 commandments of gun use!
I’m pro life ( but I respect that a woman has the right and reasons) if she chooses not to be. I have as a pro life supporter also contacted my representatives with suggestions on how they might do something to impact gun violence. And the reality is that solving the problem is not simple and there are too many who want to further their political agendas or line their pockets for the problem to just vanish overnight. So don’t paint with the broad brush about those who are pro life not wanting to reduce gun violence.
They don’t care about children after they’re born. That’s why they also never mention the foster care system and the fact that thousands of kids go “missing” in the system each year.
I think it is because they figure if they take a tiny step at stopping gun violence (even if it saves children's life's) they will no longer be able to own as many automatic weapons as they want. So basically it is for selfish un caring reasons. Cheers!
@Nanoose i haven't owned a rifle since I was much younger. I enjoyed target shooting. I do not understand the need to have even one automatic weapon, let alone several. Why does the US need an average of over one weapon per household?
