Republican majorities/Presidents are economically beneficial. The Democrats and all their feelings is weird to vote on/for, nobody cares about feelings becoming law in a nation founded upon Freedom.

@MethDozer The original post was that the republicans failed to produce a red tide, because they chose badly in what they pushed for!

@samueltyler2 I said original reply, not original post. You replied to me about my my reply. Remember???

Most folks are being sucked into a black hole, filled with hate due to two words,
Republicans and Democrats.
Both parties have accomplished their goals. To divide and conquer.
We call each other names, wish harm on each other.... hate one another.
It's so sad to see America fall apart😪

@samueltyler2 I used to have to do the same here in California for primaries, and would flip-flop on my party registration depending upon the candidates in key campaigns where my vote would matter and there was a candidate I definitely preferred. California solved that by going to the open primary where you can vote across the entire spectrum, which over-all is better IMHO but has the downsides of making it far more difficult for any "third party" candidate to make the general election and you sometimes wind up with two from the same party as the finalists in the general election. The bigger question is why the taxpayers should be paying for party primaries at all, but it is preferable to the historical smoke-filled backrooms where the special interests used to pick the party candidates.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@dancingtongue is that what happened in Alaska, 2 Republicans on the ballot?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@samueltyler2 Correct. Under Alaska's open primary system, the top four vote getters advance to the general election which is a little more "open" to lesser known and smaller party candidates, particularly given their population contrasted to California where only the top two make it which practically guarantees they will be the two major parties, or only one of the two major parties.

Yup, nothing like killing babies, promoting racism, jacking up gas to $5.00 a gallon, brownouts and blackouts, wide open borders, and arresting parents at school board meetings to get the demonocrats resonating in sheer happiness, eh?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 Losing control of the House, and most likely the Senate, is a resounding victory for demonocrats?
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 Actually it is. It means the Dems are still Anericas favorite party. Chew on that. 🙂

Brooks just summed it up on PBS Newshour as "voters clearly preferred a party out-of-touch to a party out-of-its-mind."
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
I'd say the same thing about Democrats supporting high inflation, a struggling economy, rampant crime and a porous Southern Border letting drugs, gangs and criminals stream into the US.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Zonuss So no major terrorist attack means that no terrorirsts are crossing the border?
Apparently, the only way you'll admit you're wrong is if thousands of people die.
I'm glad you're not incharge of our safety.
Maybe we've gotten better at finding terrorists because since 9/11 we're looking for them!

Adam Frisch, who is still in a neck-and-neck race against Rep. Laurn Boebert in Colorado, was asked how he was faring so well in such a red district. He pointed out that the district is red because it is the mostly rural half of Colorado, and when your livelihood is largely dependent on nature -- raising crops, taking care of livestock, or being small town business people supporting those who do -- you tend to be pragmatic. And when your once or twice a year incomes from harvests have to stretch over a full-year's costs, the pragmatic thing is to be conservative. But a traditional, moderate conservative. So when he went into these communities and listened to them, and spoke to them, they first, respected the fact he listened to them; and second, when he talked of the practical steps he wanted to take as a pragmatic businessman himself to stabilize the economy and create opportunities, heads nodded all through the crowd. When he mentioned his opponent, the heads bowed, and shook sadly. They aren't interested in the anger, fear, and conspiracy theories. They just want the circus to leave town, he said.
NoahB · 31-35, M
@dancingtongue yeah I think thats a fair assessment. Anger and fear are potent motivators but absent of any sort of coherent plan I think you start to loose voters. Thats where republicans are kind of spinning their wheels. They have alot of smoke but no fire.
Graylight · 51-55, F
That’s because when you make up things to scare yourself, then try to scare everyone else by offering solutions to problems that never existed, people get frustrated.

Tell me the ways in which history has shown us cooperative efforts are useless. Outside the Bible and preferably in a timeline within the last 1,000 years. @checkoutanytime

@Graylight how about the Spanish inquisition, whats the difference of that which wiped out a continent and installed theology, different then Biden saying MAGA is the enemy?
NoahB · 31-35, M
@checkoutanytime it’ would be a lot of work to list all the differences. (There are many) why not instead you

They didn't do badly - or terribly...
Maybe policy wise they're more or less ok it's just even Americans are fed up with the screaming thing.
Or voters like the screaming but hate the policies...

@NoahB England had a revolution but it went so badly so quickly that it's not happened since. Not even Robespierre advocating the Cult of Reason tried to ban Christmas!

hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
It wouldn't have mattered if the republicans had agreed with everything the democrats did. The election was fraudulent.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@NoahB I didn't say which side I chose. I mentioned that the democrats committed massive electoral fraud and there is a ton of evidence in support of my contention. I would say exactly the same of the republicans. The fact is the repuplocrats are one and the same party. They have no intention of changing a thing should they gain power.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@hippyjoe1955 one last time, stop with your BS about massive voter fraud! There is absolutely no credible evidence of such!

Zonuss · 41-45, M
It's kinda difficult to vote for a party where 70% of it's base believe still that the 2020 Election was stolen. And still supports Donald Trump. 🙂

Nope. People instinctively know that the Republican Party is in ruins.
They try to rationalize it but reality is slowly but surely sinking in. 🙂

I've been saying this for years as kind of a joke, but I legitimately think these people need to go start their own country based on their idiotic principles, and see how long they last in the real world.
