🇺🇸 Thank You, President Biden 🇺🇸

US President Joe Biden announced today (03/08/2022) the U.S. will ban all Russian oil imports, toughening the toll on Russia’s economy in retaliation for its invasion of Ukraine, but he acknowledged it will bring costs to Americans, particularly at the gas pump.
"We will not be part of subsidizing Putin’s war,” Biden declared, calling the new action a “powerful blow” against Russia's ability to fund the ongoing offensive.

I live in Europe, and I would like to express my gratitude. It's great to know we are not alone in this present darkness.

Thank you, Joe Biden.
Thank you, my American friends.

I kiss you 💋

He has done the easy part. The hard part is to take the steps to get American energy producers to drill, pump and deliver. But he is too "religious" (beholden to the climate change church) to do that. Instead he's been talking to Venezuela, Iran and Saudi Arabia !
There is still hope there are enough vocal leaders here to force the change.
@laotzu92 I thought we might talk on some rational level.........not gonna happen. What national resource????/ What the fuck are you talking about. Oil isn't nationalized. Land for drilling is either privately owned......or the mineral rights are......or they are leased. As such the land is under private control...to do with as the owner or leasee wants. The government gives so many tax breaks and subsidies to big oil that it don't even profit from the leases.........other than the bribes ...I mean "campaign donations" big oil gives to politicians to keep the playing field tilted in their favor.

if you think oil is a natural resource....so oil is there to befit the country...you are living in Disneyland.
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@anythingoes477 please stop swearing. Did you live through the 70s? Energy independence (produced by entrepreneurs) was a providential benefit to the United States. And it is being blown by the current administration

It might create hardships for some Americans .... but it sure as hell is better than what the Ukrainians are experiencing ... sometimes we just have to stand up and do what's necessary for the greater good.

I'm holding back my applause.

If all he does is stop purchasing Russian oil,
then he's simply encouraging the Greta Greenies.
He may well do nothing else and allow gas to go to $12-$15 per gallon or more. Why not? Shutting down oil, crushing America's economy is all part of the plan anyway.

Biden hasn't done anything FOR America, ever.
He will only win the next election if it’s outright stolen again. @Budwick

When Trump told the European union They needed to decrease Their dependance on Russian oil in 2018, The German delegation laughed at Him, Now Who has the last laugh ?

This is a particularly brave move.

I wonder if the Republicans of SW will acknowledge as much and forgive Biden when the prices go up.

They will back up words with actions, reach across partisan lines and avoid the blame game, right?

Right?

...

I'm only kidding. They will slaughter Biden and try to pin this on him to gain political advantage. They will say petrol prices are high because of a green new deal that doesn't exist yet and say Trump would have handled this better by sprinkling libertarian fairy dust and bragging about the size of his button on Twitter.

Food prices, how Russia and fertilizer will affect the way you eat and pay for your food, wake up to reality:

From Russia, With Monopolies
https://washingtonmonthly.com/2022/02/25/from-russia-with-monopolies/

Russia basically controls the worlds fertilizer supply. In essence that's why your food is probably going to maybe double in price over the summer. This why globalism sucks. The US and most other countries have painted themselves into a corner. Mainly because they rely on nations run by dictators(China/Russia) for their very survival.

So the willfully ignorant posters on here who extoll the actions of a boob, a globalist stooge in Biden, these people have no clue how the real world works, how complicated the current supply chain is and how it affects us all. The price of fertilizer is currently at astronomical levels, so it already has many US farmers hands up in the air on how they will be able to farm this year.

https://www.wral.com/rise-in-fertilizer-prices-threatening-to-drive-farmers-out-of-the-agriculture-business/20125173/

So I hope you are enjoying that ban on Russian oil. Taking a victory lap about feeling good about yourselves? Do you actually really know what's going on in this world or do you rely on fake news? What will the repercussions on that ban on oil really end up doing? You think Russia doesn't have countless other trump cards to play?

When will you take the time to research how globalism is destroying the world, along with some massive help from the clueless leftist extremist climate cult crowd?

I wonder when people will wake up, maybe when they can't afford to eat? Maybe when the American dollar becomes worthless? Will you finally wake up when the world comes to a screeching halt?

Will going yay we are going green help you then. Willful ignorance is the greatest evil of them all.

Hard to know who to believe or what will be the best thing. But it don’t matter. We dont have say.

They make us believe that we do have saved by voting. But just because we vote for who we think is right does that mean they will win.

How do we know what is best we don’t know we’re not there we’re not to see things they can see. Talking about politicians. And politicians don’t care about us.
Jonjdw · 46-50, M
@Majorsite a sham nice word choice. And I was just adding that part about W. And I don’t want to argue with you but I still believe. And I could be wrong. But Biden is not purposely doing bad things just to get gas prices go up. They say you can’t take away the gas tax. So what else are we gonna do.

But I will admit Biden has done some pretty bad things and I swear it’s being done on purpose to divide our nation.
Slade · 56-60, M
@Jonjdw or course you can reduce gas taxes. Bush even delared some gas tax holidays

but yeah, i'm very glad we're banning russian oil. Now's really the time to get off of fossil fuels in generalllllll
Elessar · 26-30, M
Now are we going to create some wealthy powerful dictator somewhere else, or have we learned the hard lesson on (another reason) why we need more domestically-produced renewable energy?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@jackson55 Same identical situation here in Italy. Environmentalists(!!) campaigned hard against nuclear, out of fears of a new Chernobyl primarily. Paradoxically we border with countries that have plenty of nuclear plants, France in primis, so idk maybe they think the Alps will keep any radiation leak out if it happened there? lol. And paradoxically, we're f*cking with the environment much worse than we would've done if we had nuclear energy production, rather than importing also that one.
jackson55 · M
@Elessar Chernobyl was a poor design. I know, France has nuclear plants that hum along just fine. Several nuclear plants have been closed in the US for the same environmental issues.

masterofyou · 70-79, M
@LordShadowfire if Trump was in office none of this would have happened....
@masterofyou Oh, this bullshit again. The only reason it wouldn't have happened is because of Trump's constant ass kissing. He literally didn't allow any of his cabinet members to say anything bad about Putin whatsoever.
@masterofyou But America is great remember. Are you saying it cant be great without Russia? Seems like a contradiction. Awww. Poor thing is slightly inconvenienced and cant take it. China has Russia's back, especially financially. Almost all of Europe is dependent upon Russia for its energy. This will have little or no effect upon anything regarding Ukraine. It will only cause more pain and suffering for the US middle class and the poor, by raping their savings and prices hitting the roof.

You have no idea the cost Americans are paying and will continue to pay due to Joe Biden and his fellow cultists in the climate charade. Platitudes and idealism mean absolutely nothing, especially when somebody can't feed his family, just because some elitist who never walked in another person's shoes. One thing that kind of kills the credibility of these gestures is to make up the loss Biden is playing footsie with the Saudis who have been carrying out a US backed genocide in Yemen for years at this point.
reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm no expert but I think the stability of the u.s. dollar depends much on saudi arabia using U.S. currency in its oil transactions. I think saudi arabia could do literally anything they want and the u.S. would not lift a finger because if they cut ties with saudi arabia the U.S. dollar will crash and so would the U.S. economy. on top of that saudi arabia invest a lot of its money in U.S. weapon production so that whole balance reqires a steady source of conflict. they need wars to keep the weapons pouring out.

A couple of the big refiners in the US told the Biden admin, go ahead and buy Russian oil, but we’re not going to refine it. Biden was under extreme pressure, he had to do something.
@jackson55 Because foreign policy is dictated by the government not oil oligarchs.
jackson55 · M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow That’s true but foreign policy has little to do with US oil refiners. If they don’t want to refine Russian oil that’s their business.
@jackson55 Actually it is when they try and play at foreign policy like that. Might as well skip the pretense and just make the head of Exxon POTUS if shit like that is tolerated.
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
Bottom line is all about producing enough oil in the US, with the result being US energy independence, a net exporter of oil as opposed to being a net importer of oil.

Until that happens, prices will continue to rise and tyrants will continue to thrive. So Joe Biden and his fellow globalists have done nothing to fix the situation...Biden only knows how to punt.....

No Putin moves against weak in leadership. He saw the utter failure in Afghanistan and the meek president trying to deal with identity politics rather the lead. He took advantage of it. Just like he did with Obama when he went after Crimes.

@stratosranger You used a historical fact in order to support a lie about those who disagree with you. That does not make it any less of a lie.

No one supports restricting travel for the lower and middle classes. If anything, I feel private jets should be illegal, or at least heavily taxed. You'll have to try again. Begin with a basis in fact this time.
So my facts are lies? What the hell are you smoking? And yes, battery
