🇺🇸 Thank You, President Biden 🇺🇸

US President Joe Biden announced today (03/08/2022) the U.S. will ban all Russian oil imports, toughening the toll on Russia’s economy in retaliation for its invasion of Ukraine, but he acknowledged it will bring costs to Americans, particularly at the gas pump.
"We will not be part of subsidizing Putin’s war,” Biden declared, calling the new action a “powerful blow” against Russia's ability to fund the ongoing offensive.

I live in Europe, and I would like to express my gratitude. It's great to know we are not alone in this present darkness.

Thank you, Joe Biden.
Thank you, my American friends.

I kiss you 💋

One thing that kind of kills the credibility of these gestures is to make up the loss Biden is playing footsie with the Saudis who have been carrying out a US backed genocide in Yemen for years at this point.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I don't know anything about that Yemen thing.
All I know is that we need help in Europe, and America is here to help us.
@helenS And that seems to be the problem. It has been brought up that people suddenly give a shit when a strong man goes after a bunch of white Europeans.

But if it is poor brown people the US will bankroll it and provide the guns.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow That’s different since we’re paying for it.
@LeopoldBloom Cynical, but I don't disagree.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm no expert but I think the stability of the u.s. dollar depends much on saudi arabia using U.S. currency in its oil transactions. I think saudi arabia could do literally anything they want and the u.S. would not lift a finger because if they cut ties with saudi arabia the U.S. dollar will crash and so would the U.S. economy. on top of that saudi arabia invest a lot of its money in U.S. weapon production so that whole balance reqires a steady source of conflict. they need wars to keep the weapons pouring out.

@reflectingmonkey They already do whatever the hell they want.
