@CelestiaStella Not really if anyone contributed it was the officer to Chauvin's right who would have been the one to put pressure on Floyd's back but we don't have good video of that like we do of the knee on the neck so they string up Chauvin. The knee on the neck was uncomfortable I am quite sure but that is not what killed him.
@Gangstress you have diabeties for 35 years and you will piss your pants smart ass.

No, but I knew that if I went on SW I'd see a bunch of white conservatives expressing disappointment that a man who murdered a black person was found guilty.
@spjennifer Exactly. In the case of Rayshard Brooks, the officer failed to restrain him, was overpowered, and Brooks was able to grab his taser and fire it at him (at which point the officer shot and killed Brooks). All over someone sleeping in a drive-thru. It's a failure of policing if it's allowed to get to that point.
@SW-User The reality is that shit happens sometimes and not all cops are equally trained or equally competent. There should be some standards Nationally in how our Police are trained to react. Sure there are bad cops, same as there are bad people and it's not always going to go according to someone's plan or ideas but adequate and standardized training would go a long way to mitigating some of these situations.
If anyone has ever seen Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, this trial is similar to what happens in a Cardassian court. The guilty verdict is already rendered before the trial ever begins.
Yes and No - You tell me. Washington (CNN)Rep. Maxine Waters on Saturday night called for protesters to "stay on the street" and "get more confrontational" if former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is acquitted in the killing of George Floyd. I hope this verdict gets overturned and- it might be a constitutional issue ( 6th Amendment) and the Supreme Court could take it up. At the very least that dumb byproduct of Affirmative Action could have done this cop a favor. Wait and see come sentencing time. There is no way the judge will give him the whole 75 years.
@LeopoldBloom I am not defending the King cops I am just saying that they felt he was a danger to them I suppose. He was high on drugs and kept getting up and would not stay down. What would you do when some druggie is getting up after being told to stay down. The cops were justified in using force. However I feel that they used too much force - it was not balanced to the threat. Again poor training or racist cops ? Maybe both. As for the jury I don't believe anything the jury says now because if they admitted that they were influenced by what Max the Mouth said they would be violating what the court usually tells a jury. Basically using only evidence brought in this courtroom. - No one is going to say - oh yes we were scared so we voted this way. Come on...
@MarmeeMarch It doesn't matter if they thought King was a "danger." They had him outnumbered and could have overpowered him without beating him. Although, having grown up in LA, I can assure you that the treatment King received was normal for the LAPD under Daryl Gates. That one just happened to be filmed.
No one said they were influenced by Maxine Waters, other than the Nazi fuckheads on conservative media who immediately jumped on her statement as an excuse to let Chauvin off. But since you're a mind reader, I guess we should go by your "feelings."
Regardless, Chauvin murdered a man in cold blood and is getting what he deserves.
@independentone Innocent people are charged with crimes all the time.
How do you get out of jury duty - lying? You take an oath to tell the truth during the voir dire process, so you're admitting to violating that? Typical conservative, proud of breaking laws you disagree with while ready to throw the book at everyone else.
@LeopoldBloom I'm not conservative, and I don't have to lie to get out of jury duty, simply dress in all black, spike your hair and scowl at everyone, you don't even have to say a word, you will be dismissed within a few minutes.
I’m pretty conservative politically. I honestly think people of color need to address the issue of resisting arrest. It’s too common not to address and ends up in death usually. That being said, Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd on video. He cut off his airway for several minutes until he went limp then continued to do so. Let’s be honest about this, not politically correct. Both did several things wrong which escalated everything which ended in a man being murdered.
@Markymark thank you for being objective about it. Its rare that I ever see a conservative being honest about these incidents. Not casting a judgement, just an observation. Nobody pretends Mr. Floyd was a saint. But he didn't deserve death.
SW-User
@Markymark perhaps a review of the way the African Americans were introduced and their subsequent treatment since might give you some insight.
That’s really no longer an excuse since it was hundreds of years ago and we’ve got black lawyers doctors etc. Black people aren’t incapable of following the law. If you think so you’re kinda racist. @SW-User
@fernie2 "toxic feminist". 1.Any woman that dares speak her mind in the presence of a man. 2. Any woman that doesnt agree that men are superior. 3. Any woman in position of authority. 4. Any woman that belongs to a left leaning political party.
Exactly, the DA charged based on appeasing the crowd and made it stick. Nobody seemed to notice that before Chauvin even arrived, before George Floyd was put on the ground or a knee on his neck that he was saying he could not breathe. That was because he was having cardiac problems. The police failed to recognize and act on a medical emergency, good grounds for a lawsuit but not Murder in the 2nd. But murder in the 2nd is what the mob wanted and is what would get the DA re elected so serve it up they did.
@MasterLee Of course, we don't know if Chauvin would have choked Floyd to death if Floyd had been white. The cop who murdered Daniel Shaver didn't hold back because Shaver was white. The reason people focus on race is because the police kill Black suspects at a rate 2 ½ times higher than they kill white suspects. Native American suspects are killed at an even higher rate. So only a white supremacist would say that "race doesn't matter" in this area.
@LeopoldBloom my favorite videos show antifa/blm stealing the trump flags prior to attacking.

No, but it does reveal the extent to which it's a fiction that jurors will be blank slates. Trials of this level of publicity are not immune from outside influence and even moving the trial to another location would not mean the jurors had no preconceptions of the case.
But the trial is not one of mob rule simply because you dislike the outcome. That is just assuming the jurors didn't make a reasonable decision or caved to pressure. There is no evidence of that.
I don't think so, at least he got a trial, Chauvin was Judge, Jury and Executioner for George Floyd. Regardless of Floyd's past, whether he was high or combative, Police Officers are supposed to be trained to deal with those situations and kneeling on Floyd's neck for almost 10 minutes was not according to any Police protocol. Not saying that Chauvin actually killed Floyd as Medical Examiners have said he didn't but his actions certainly contributed to Floyd's death and that's what he was charged with and convicted of so the conviction was appropriate and hopefully he will receive the sentence he justly deserves. No "Mob rule" here.
Some of the questions you pose are valid. Not many, some. This is an example of one of your more absurd. The jury was vetted and properly instructed. They, like the rest of the world, watched a police officer, aided by his colleagues, murder a subdued suspect. Obvious if only by watching the last minutes when it was reported to chauvin that floyd had no pulse. The rest of the entire incident has no relevance.
If only that loudmouth could control her flapping jibs for another day there would not be talk of an appeal. But since she just had to say what was on her mind - that could have prejudiced the jury - you can't unhear a call for violence, especially if it were reminiscent of a year ago. I hope he gets out on appeal.
@MarmeeMarch I don’t agree with on much but you are correct what Waters said was ridiculous and wrong. But no there is no reason to believe the jury was influenced by anything but the evidence. If you watched the trial it was overwhelming. Plus I believe the jury was instructed not to watch coverage.
@monte3 I have no doubt that this guy is guilty and needs to be locked up forever. My problem is what she said - I dont mind a call for justice but I do mind of bringing up some horrifying memories of the past or a threat of the same. I dont want any room for appeals - but now that that ninny opened her big mouth and said what she said on camera the defense has some wiggle room for an appeal or maybe reducing the sentence.
Yes. Chances are he would have been convicted anyway due to excessive force on camera but when you have masses of people outside ready to act a fool with God only knows what.. threatens their lives/well being and most people would succumb to fear instead of justice. Land of the brave is now land of the cowards. Justice is now gone and mob mentality rules because this is where Democrats have led the country.
The Derek Chauvin trial was trial by jury. Four different very senior cops were sworn in and testified that Chauvin violated training and policy. Chauvin's crime was all there on the video tape and couldn't be denied.
I heard a cable news talking-head yesterday say he was glad the cop was found guilty even if he was really innocent. --- He didn't want looting or rioting.
@LeopoldBloom probably scared of getting their houses burnt down, or their families hurt, didn’t one of the jurors get pigs blood smeared over their home, and find a pigs head deposited, and didn’t one of the newspapers do a biography on each juror, so everyone new who they were,
@ididntknow And yet, in an interview, a juror revealed that the "fear of riots" was not an issue for them. But since you're a mind reader, you know what he was really thinking.
Look, I know you people were jacking off in anticipation of Chauvin being found not guilty and hoping for the riots to follow so you could blame everything on Joe Biden. Sorry to disappoint you.
@ididntknow The jurors weren't afraid of that, either. But you're welcome to just make shit up. Next you'll be telling us that Newsmax caved in on the Dominion lawsuit because Chris Ruddy was afraid of being mugged.
Dawhite man was recorded killing a black man! But how hold he be convicted? There must be something wrong! What is the world coming to! 🙄🙄 ( sarcasm warning).
