No, but I knew that if I went on SW I'd see a bunch of white conservatives expressing disappointment that a man who murdered a black person was found guilty.

@SW-User May be the police need a different restraint technique?
SW-User
@Hayleywg Absolutely. And many police departments are changing their practices in light of this case.

@SW-User your opinion is not surprising since race is your only metric.

@Hayleywg In most normal Police arrests no matter the race, the cops have the perp in handcuffs and stuffed in the back of Police Cruiser within a couple of minutes. In Floyd's case, 3 of them including Chauvin took 10+ minutes and the guy died, talk about piss poor policing and incompetence, either they intended to do him harm or they shouldn't have even been there...

@SW-User how?

SW-User
@spjennifer Exactly. In the case of Rayshard Brooks, the officer failed to restrain him, was overpowered, and Brooks was able to grab his taser and fire it at him (at which point the officer shot and killed Brooks). All over someone sleeping in a drive-thru. It's a failure of policing if it's allowed to get to that point.

@SW-User The reality is that shit happens sometimes and not all cops are equally trained or equally competent. There should be some standards Nationally in how our Police are trained to react. Sure there are bad cops, same as there are bad people and it's not always going to go according to someone's plan or ideas but adequate and standardized training would go a long way to mitigating some of these situations.
