Often, I leave it at home, for any local "outs and abouts"!

On longer journeys I take it lest I need summon help - as a couple of years ago when my car broke down, enforcing an extra week's holiday a few hundred miles from home. (I could have had it and I relayed home but I'd still have been faced with having it repaired.) Or far more commonly, for quick calls to friends to arrange meetings.

On such excursions it is switched off unless and until I need it (or have arranged to be called).

The one thing I would never do is carry it sticking out of a back pocket, even though my portable 'phone is too compact to do much protruding from any pocket. A phone hanging out of a hip pocket is too easily sat on by mistake, to fall out - or to invite theft by a pick-pocket or robber.

I always use a little cross over bag.

If I'm out with my brother, I make him carry it. If not, I just carry it in my hand

I am VERY rough on my phones. AND Samsung phones are crap and easily ruined...so I created a small container INSIDE my handbag for the phone. It's cushioned with tissues, and when I HEAVE my handbag into the car, and WHAM if off the corners of doors, the phone stays safe.

I’m ready but I keep it in my left Front pocket. My right pocket has other stuff in it. And it’s upside down in there with the screen facing my leg, so when I take it out, it’s right side up in my hand and facing towards my face.

When covid lockdowns were on I deliberately left phone either at home or locked in car so I could avoid QR code checking in and related attacks on personal liberty and demand to use a paper form on which I wrote false details.

I wear cargo type pants for work and left side leg has a phone pocket.
