Do they go in sync?
Rambler · M
"age is only a number, you can be immature forever " ;)
Eternity · 26-30, M
Hell no. I've met 40 year old children. Hell, some of them are on this site lol.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@Eternity my mom is a 72 yr old child lol
@DearAmbellina2113 My dad is a 77 year old child. 😆😭
SW-User
@Eternity 😂Yep.
Just look at the posts and comments on SW. You could tell age and maturity don’t go in sync.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
"Depends" are only required at a much older age! 🤪
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@spjennifer You're never too young for "Depends."
WhateverWorks · 36-40
There’s common patterns, but it’s like all patterns that you can only work with people on a case-by-case basis. I’ve read this also varies by culture though. Neurology suggests that whatever executive functioning skills you’re going to have peaks at around 27-30.-ish. A lot of who you are solidifies at that point.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Circumstances are highly variable.

Example: an 80 year old alcoholic can be just as childish as as they were at ten years old.

That is just one example.

No two people are the same.
I heard girls tend to be more mature than boys but im sure there's always exceptions
helenS · 36-40, F
@SStarfish I can definitely confirm 😏
Thandeka · 31-35, F
@SStarfish Why is it that guys take longer to mature. Do we have society to blame?
@Thandeka who knows.. they are just slow that way (some anyway) so i heard
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
Um maybe! I think maturity is a result of experience and experience is a result of age.

But you can still live your whole life in a box and not experience anything
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
They correlate but I've found 18 year olds on here who are far more mature than several of the 70s year olds. So many many exceptions, but there's still a trend.
Freeranger · M
[sigh] Okay....I'll move along the lines of your answer.
An old bull and a young bull stood above the rim of a piece of land that displayed a gorgeous amount of young female cows below. The young bull, full of testerone said, "let's go run down and capture us one of those attractive young cows. After several seconds....the Old Bull turned and looked at his eager young associate and said, "why don't we walk down, and capture them all...."
Thandeka · 31-35, F
@Freeranger What did I just read [c=7700B2]blink blink[/c]
helenS · 36-40, F
I voted YES because an older man is more likely to be mature than a young guy.
Thandeka · 31-35, F
@helenS They might be more experienced than the youngster but not necessarily mature
helenS · 36-40, F
@Thandeka I said "more likely", not "necessarily"... and they have deeper voices 😏
Welcome to SW, Thandeka! 🥳
🌷 <== welcome tulip for you
Ducky · 31-35, F
It does for some, but not all. I've seen senor citizens act like whiny teenagers and teenagers who were very mature.
Ontheroad · M
Wouldn't that be grand, but alas, age does not necessarily bring on maturity.
helenS · 36-40, F
@Ontheroad ... emphasis on not necessarily
Ontheroad · M
@helenS as in frquently doesn't.
Convivial · 26-30, F
Can be a huge difference with either in the lead... Often maturity seems to have not heard the starters gun!
spjennifer · 56-60, T
Maybe, because everyone is different, some mature quickly, some age quickly, some never do mature...
I think some people don't grow or look for ways to grow or don't think to.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
I identify as 30, but i refuse to grow up🤨
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Virgo79 I'm 35.....plus shipping and handling
They are absolutely not dependent on each other.
revenant · F
It ought but not always the case
iamelijah · 26-30, M
No. I wanna answer depends but no.
SmoothKnight · 51-55, M
Absolutely not

smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
No they don't
Mathers · 61-69
PoeticPlay · 51-55, M
You can never stop the aging process.
But immaturity can last a life time!

Sidewinder · 36-40, M
Age will always move forward, but maturity fluctuates.
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Definitely not
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
Not always
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
On average they trend together. But averages can be deceptive in the amount of variance actually presented.
