@iamnikki Oh I did. So fired! Normally he doesn’t get anywhere with weaponised incompetence with me, but I won’t be leaving them with him again anytime soon.

@resealableheart I know, I know. I married a guy with four kids, two teenagers. Their mother died suddenly and with no parenting experience, basically no clue, I found myself stepping a 12 year old and a 16 yr old.

And a good time was had by all.

Not saying to leave your 11 yr old in charge, just a little more trust. Perhaps keep a eye out when the 17 yr old is in charge.

@whowasthatmaskedman Yes it’s his problem. My kids are far from perfect & yes at 6 and 9 years old they love nothing more than to push a boundary. They wouldn’t do it when I’m home, and if he had told them not to do it they would have stopped.

@resealableheart I get it that you put responsibility on your 17 Year old. But clearly you either didnt equip him to accept it, or motive him to accept it, or motive his younger siblings to follow his lead. Your system failed..Now I wasnt there. I dont know which part failed.. But the evidence is in. And you were the adult in the room, or not as it happens..
I pay my 13YO grandson to mow my lawns. I pay him well. More than I used to pay an outsider. But I dont have to concern myself with any one it. He handles the who thing including cleaning the mower and recharging the battery. Not because its duty or because he loves me. (although he does) Because he is paid well to accept the responsibility.😷

I expected my daughters to babysit at his age and younger so he can do the same.
