When I grow up I will be tall enough to reach the branches That I need to reach to climb the trees You get to climb when you're grown up
And when I grow up I will be smart enough to answer all The questions that you need to know The answers to before you're grown up
And when I grow up I will eat sweets every day On the way to work and I Will go to bed late every night
And I will wake up When the sun comes up and I Will watch cartoons until my eyes go square And I won't care 'cause I'll be all grown up!
When I grow up!
When I grow up, when I grow up I will be strong enough to carry all The heavy things you have to haul Around with you when you're a grown-up
And when I grow up, when I grow up I will be brave enough to fight the creatures That you have to fight beneath the bed Each night to be a grown-up
And when I grow up I will have treats every day And I'll play with things that mum pretends That mums don't think are fun
And I will wake up When the sun comes up and I Will spend all day just lying in the sun And I won't burn 'cause I'll be all grown-up
When I grow up
And when I grow up I will be brave enough to fight the creatures That you have to fight beneath the bed Each night to be a grown-up
When I grow up...
Just because you find that life's not fair, it Doesn't mean that you just have to grin and bear it If you always take it on the chin and wear it Nothing will change
When I grow up...
Just because I find myself in this story It doesn't mean that everything is written for me If I think the ending is fixed already I might as well be saying I think that it's OK
Preferring vegetables instead of sweets. Listening to orchestra or ambience instead of cool music. Enjoying doing taxes and paperwork instead of video games. Smoking a pipe instead of a bong. Driving a Buick or mini van. Ordering healthy food options. Watching c-span on TV. Wearing a suit and tie. Strict schedule revolving around meal times and bed time. S3x only on Sunday afternoon in missionary position through a hole in the bed sheet. Church on Sunday morning.
OOOOOORRRRRRR... you can ignore all that boring old people BS and live and do as you want WHEN you want like I have done for the past 12 years when I turned 36.
Well like @whowasthatmaskedman said in so many words - growing old is mandatory but growing UP is optional.
Ya know I remember watching Leave it to Beaver and seeing how Ward and June acted and thinking, "I hope I never grow up." So far I haven't and you do not have to either, young dude :)
Never loose the inner child in you or else u would end up taking life a way to serious and u will end up in a lot of pain . Also you’ll end up finding faults in everything . The Buddha talks about the inner child and I’m not a Buddhist but I went through a lot of different religions and that’s the easiest belief and softest belief I heard of
I think at 36 which is still relatively young you’re not a young adult or quite a mature adult. Neither here nor there. We’re the equivalent of dinner at 4pm 😂.
