Does anyone still like watching Doctor Who?

Last time I watched it was when David Tennant was the tenth doctor.
I was heartbroken when he left and wouldn't watch it again. I really wanted him to marry Rose Tyler.

Apparently they have decided to have a Eurovision themed episode to screen on the same night as the real contest on 17th May. It's going to be the most expensive episode in the shows 62 year history.

My dad remembers watching the first one with William Hartnell when he was six. It scared him silly but he became addicted to it. He also remembers old shows such as Fireball XL5 and he was a Thunderbirds fan. Anyone remember these?
Aww..

I remember Fireball and the Gerry Anderson shows like Stingray and, of course, Thunderbirds. I love sci-fi, but for some reason I never got into Dr Who. I like it when I see it and the old Dalek feature film is good, but the show just never caught my attention enough for me to invest the time in it. Tennant was excellent in it, as was Christopher Eccleston before him.

I started watching this n the 80s, and as a result Tom Baker is still one of my favorites, although I really liked David Tennet too. I’ve seen a few of the new ones after Tennet, but it’s lost a bit of the mojo as time goes on.

It’s not a show I can binge watch. Eccleston left the show too early. Tenant is awesome. Smith and Capaldi are great too. And tenants who, shows up a couple of times during their run. Which is always so cool.

Yes, I didn't like the writing in the last Doctor so I lost a bit of interest, but I like the new doctor! My favourite Doctor episodes were David Tennant as well.
trackboy · 26-30, M
It is an interesting series to watch. Has anyone seen the E space trilogy where the tardis took them out of normal space and into E space? Adric is one of the characters in it. 🍪
@trackboy Did you like David Tennant in Hamlet?

I don't have cable, so I haven't watched it in a few years. I was also a big fan of Thunderbirds as a kid.
The classic episodes first came to our public television channels when I was in junior high, around 1970, and that’s how I discovered The Doctor. My favorite episodes starred Patrick Troughton, the second incarnation.
I still watch it Doctor Who, still like it. I thought the recent Christmas special was really good.

The creativity and work that went into Thunderbirds and the other puppet shows is insane. There will never be anything like that again.

@robingoodfellow They made Thunderbirds animated now which is pretty good, there was something to be said about the puppets!

@smallstone i was a big fan of old doctor who i have watched some of the new series i do not think as good as the old four or six episode foremats no cliffhangers too much in one episode in the new series not for me
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
It goes through phases with me. I'm a long-time Whovian but don't religiously watch ever series as it's released.
22Michelle · 61-69, T
Fireball XL5, Supercar, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet. All fabulous stuff, especially Thunderbirds.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
I watch the Christmas specials. I used to watch it more as a kid, I had some on VHS..I should watch more - apparently it's a damn good show in general.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
I've always hated that show, and that's surprising because I love sci-fi stuff. I love David Tennant as an actor though.
smallstone · 36-40, F
@HowtoDestroyAngels He was good in Broadchurch and he's on Netflix in a series with
Stanley Tucci called Inside Man.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
@smallstone Inside Man is great, and he was also great in the Netflix Marvel show Jessica Jones.
smallstone · 36-40, F
@HowtoDestroyAngels I'm going to watch Inside Man later tonight. 👍
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
Doctor Who is one of my favorite Science Fiction programs, particularly the episodes that starred Tom Baker or Peter Davison as "The Doctor."

I started with Christopher Eccleston and watched through Michael Capaldi - when they killed off Clara it kind of ruined it for me.
DailyFlash · 56-60, M
I watch the first run 60s-80s on Retro TV. Tom Baker is my favorite .
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Stopped watching in the beginning of the 80s when everything changed and got too serious. The funny was gone.
It's no loss they're killing the series now.
i liked this Who..

I watch the old ones over lunch. I couldn't be bothered with the 2nd run. I liked Ecclestone but the 2 guys that followed were just Tom Baker wannabes so I was out
Miram · 31-35, F

@HobNoblin How old are you?
GROW UP.
@HobNoblin hardly. If commies were the only ones championing LGBT stuff things would be a lot simpler
