However you look at it, it just doesn't make sense, for example if the Doctor had countless regenerations, why did they a need a new regeneration cycle after the 11th. The fugitive Doctor is the biggest plot hole in Doctor Who and I'd really like that whole thing to be retconned. It doesn't respect the story, it changes things way too much. You can't just change 60 years of built up story like that. We know who the Doctor is, they really need to stop changing things just for the sake of change. If it's not broken don't fix it

@JJones I love the fugitive Doctor's personality and wish they'd give her her own season!

That said, I'm kind of disappointed at how regenerating has become such the main part of the plot line of late, when it was originally just an "in universe" way to explain a new actor taking the role (I guess I'm glad they didn't do that with James Bond or Batman)

Tbf I thought Christopher Ecclestone had some mileage in him but he only lasted a season. David Tennant was superb, and I also had a soft spot for Sylvester McCoy for some reason. Matt Smith was fine, but then I lost interest.
