Oh that’s an interesting one to contemplate! I think there are times that show us who we are, and that is probably one for me. While “true love” has taken on a sort of fairy tale meaning, I do know some people manage to find an incomprehensibly deep connection. I don’t even know if I’m capable of it, but I know even if I am, it would be difficult and scary for me. I’ve lost a lot of the madness I had in my younger days. lol I wouldn’t go out of my way to find it now, but if I did stumble into it and went through all that fear to let it take root, I don’t think I’ve met the part of me that would fight to keep it.
Aww!! I understand your point … It’s not easy to find and feel true love but when it happens, all the madness will be worthwhile and maybe an added value too .. 😂❤️
I met my true love in 1985 by sheer chance, at a Scout Jamboree with around 15,000 people plus visitors every day. We met, we talked, we went out to dinner a few days after the Jamboree, two days later I asked her to marry me. We spent 30 wonderful years together and yes it was a true and amazing love we shared. Sadly she passed away 8 years ago next month. But our love goes on forever ♾️❤️
True love is the best drug there is. There’s bound to be some situational madness. Just let it happen. The happiness created opens up wonderful doors within us that we can’t otherwise experience.
@Soossie I am not resistant to true love, but I have never ever experienced true love. I have experienced the attempts of trying to change/alter/manipulate me into a person that a woman wants me to be, as well as the do you own enough and have enough monetarily for me to try and manipulate you into the man, I want types though.
And these things shut me down and turn me off immediately.
If I have a romantic interest in a woman none of that crap ever enters my mind or heart. So, I stay unattached.
I'm saying this is the lead singer of The Doors a handful of years before he hit it BIG TIME. He was an ordinary kid whose potential was not yet tapped. Sort of like you and me before we became BIG here on SW!
in all truth I had to hike about five miles with a clean dress to a woman's prison and go through all the search stuff at visitor intake to get my girlfriend something decent to wear for her court case the following monday
@Soossie but I also wanted to stress carrying a covered dress over my shoulder down from a higher elevation and across a major freeway and then into the delta where the women's prison sat by the river. I'm happy that I did that for her
I don't think there was a limit to how far I would have gone for my true love when I was young. That's probably still true, but I'm old enough to let somebody drive me so I can nap on the way.
I believe you since falling in love happens fast and that takes youth … it is the keep on loving someone in later ages which is important and sweeter …
It has to be yours and your partner's top priority or it will wither and die very quickly. Love is delicate, needy, jealous, demanding, unreasonable, and wonderful. The good comes with some bad at times but it is worth the trouble.

Having said that, I don’t judge a great philosopher and a deep thinker by his sexual orientations …

@Soossie I'm glad you like him and it's quite forgiving of you to think that way. I've disproved his antique thoughts on the eternal return but maybe I can find a few things I approve of.
