Do you feel you fit in here?

Yes & no. I think I fit in here because I don't fit in most places, so I think all of us here have that in common.

We fit in here by not fitting in

In some ways, with some people, the same way it is offline.
There are several of whom I’m very fond. 🙂

This place often makes me feel lonely but it’d be even more lonely if I didn’t come on here.

I don't think about fitting in here. I'm appreciative for the kind, fun and cool people I've met here as they make this life just a little brighter.

Observing how the many sociopaths here operate also gives me some degree of gratitude: for my friends and family in real life and because I don't encounter people like that in my non internet life.

I'm just so fking glad for the ppl I met here, good and bad

No. I have found kind and compassionate people here. I’ve also felt lonely here. I’ve had people say things that hurt me, and things that have helped.
I don’t think I feel like I belong though, but I think that is a problem with me. I always feel like I’m intruding.
I always enjoy seeing your posts. You’re very sweet.

There’s some lovely people here, sadly there’s some not so nice people.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I've never really fit in anywhere, not even here, but I think that makes me unique. Hopefully you can gain that superpower yourself.

Think about it though, it's mostly a cliquey site. Do you really wanna belong to one of those? I prefer being a misfit myself.😉🌷

It's SW, it's pretty much hit and miss on any given day. Hell it's hit and miss on any given hour.

I don't feel like I fit in here, much, but neither does being on here make me feel any more or less lonely.

Martin is my best friend.

We have sleepovers and rub hot oil into each other's shoulders and listen to Placebo.

Unless you have really close connections (not the people who comment on your posts ) , it seems to be a lonely place.

And then the posts ..,

Less than 5% are good posts (just an estimate ) and thoughtful but chances are they don’t appear in your feed when you login on a bad day.

Yes there are very very few good people here though.

I'm not good at talking to people or connecting. Probably due to my loneliness and depression. I try to overcome it by drowning them with Dad Jokes and memes.

I basically feel very frustrated. I learn a lot on here about interactions and some folks have some pretty witty stuff that they share but I don't have anyone that lives close by that I can really communicate well with. I have a close friend but we don't have a lot in common. So, yeah, lonely too

I have a few people I have formed a nice connection with and I love interacting with them. There are also some I do not share many interests with or who ignore me...that is fine...and then there is the political debate, which I try to avoid but sometimes i cannot help myself...

I don’t fit in anywhere. I figured that out a very long time ago. Sure, for a short time, I’ll get along with a few people here and there, but it’s only ever temporary. More often than not, I find myself feeling very lonely.

I feel like I am off to the side, watching people dance.

Yet often the dance floor is just plain empty.

I am lonely all the time offline and online. It sucks.

If I avoid the crazies and stick with my circle of peeps I'm fine.
Once I go outside those borders it's a crap shoot. 😳

I’ve been here since the start, and also EP before that, so it feels like “home.” If I’d have joined recently, I doubt I’d feel like I fit in because everyone would be a stranger to me, and there are a lot of trolls and bad actors that came along in more recent times. I know a lot of members, so it makes a big difference.

No, I don't. I only come here every now and then to make sure that my weekly writing streak on an app that I use doesn't default back to zero and I have to start all over again. So, I have to keep on writing online even if I don't actually want to.

I don’t know about fitting in but then I’m one of those who march to a different drummer. As for lonely; probably about 95% of my day when my wife doesn’t recognize me.

I have my highs and my lows. Sometimes I like it in here other times I just want to disappear.
