Dogs. I love dogs and wouldn't trade mine for anything in this world, but they're also one of the deadliest animals for humans. In the US, fatalities from dog attacks have doubled in the last decade, with a large portion of that rise coming in the wake of Covid.

There are a lot of breeders who separate pups from their mothers too early, and a lot of owners who don't take the time to socialize their dogs. It creates a lot of behavioral problems that makes them potentially dangerous to others. And when untreated can lead to aggression. Couple that with the negligence of their owners, and it creates a very real threat to the neighborhood.

I've had so many kids run up to my dogs and try to pet them without permission, and there's so many ways that could've gone wrong. These kids don't realize that, to these dogs, they are total strangers. It doesn't register them to consider what it would be like if a total stranger ran up trying to touch you. Parents should definitely be teaching their kids to be careful around dogs they don't know

So-called "recreational" drugs. (Most are illegal in many countries, too. Most people do recognise they are dangerous and don't touch them.)

Over-reliance on so-called "smart"-phones and the Internet. (I use it for genuine information, very occasional shopping for goods not available in the local shops, certain public services and a couple of specialist fora dedicated to my interests. SW is just for fun and relaxation! I try not to live by the Internet and my portable telephone is not connected to it.)

I don't know they keep us around if they are just going to slowly put us in extinction. Why not just just nuke the whole planet and kill everything on it now and get it over with.

Humans are a fucked up animal. We have love and compassion. Then at the same time were are evil fucking monsters. That we will deform every living thing DNA or make it extinct by killing it off.

Swimming in rivers and lakes…too many feral hogs and other animals with parasites spreading them to waterways these days to not consider this as a vector for being infected with them. Parasites can have serious health effects.

And bike lanes / traffic lanes on busy city streets. Here in NYC, the city officials admitted pedestrian accidents / deaths have not improved since adding bike lanes / removing traffic lanes. Walking in the city has become even more dangerous - - you've got to watch out for cars and cyclists. Cars were bad enough blocking intersections and speeding, but now cyclists and ebikes are crashing through intersections at speed and not following traffic rules. If you're walking in downtown keep your head on a swivel and brace yourself for impact when crossing streets.

it's only June and I've seen 3 people hit by cars this year while wearing noise-cancelling headphones. Noise-cancelling headphones are ridiculously dangerous in a city setting. If you're in NYC, put the headphones in your bag until you're some place safe.
