I get it. A bit confused as to which decision was best ..kicking to the curb ...or refraining from certain words ..
Both?
Personally, words are words. It remains the context in which we use them.
I drop F bombs on the regular...out loud. It's not a physical activity but more so an inflated sign post along the road of how I feel at that moment..

Too often but nearly always when on my own, and I break, drop, spill or mislay something. I do not like swearing, do not normally swear in conversation; but will do under stress.
I used to work with someone who used the "F-" word so much in ordinary conversation that one day I drily remarked he'd be lost without copulation... then had to explain what I meant. His habit was so ingrained he didn't realise it!

I hardly swear at all, and I'm honestly appalled by how some people, including family members, throw "the f word" around. It feels so coarse. Some words ought to be kept for dramatic effect when they are really needed!
Readily, depending on whom I'm with. They exist for a reason, for they express emotions immediately and things don't become left unsaid... but I only use emotively and in context. Otherwise I'm soft spoken in words

More than I'd like. But because I feel they are wrong to use, but because using them more rarely gives them more power. We've got a problem in language where we overuse words that are meant to be extreme a lot and thus rob them of their value. Nothing is premium because everything is premium. Dropping the f-bomb doesn't mean anything because it's done all the time. Overuse robs us off the emotional range the words should be able to help us convey.
By using them rarely, you have allowed them to regain some of that power. When someone who knows you hears you swear, they know things just got real.

I was brought up to believe that even saying the word "damn" was bad. Of course, my mother said "Damn it" regularly in front of me...so it was do as I say and not as I do. Unfortunately, after living for 25 years with a construction worker who couldn't even go to a public restaurant without letting loose with the F bombs in front of very young children, it did rub off on me. I learned EVERY bad word.
I met a friend about 14 years ago, who told me that I didn't sound ladylike, and I was appalled. I guess you can't like down with dogs...etc. So I've changed my everyday language, and I only swear when I am alone...or HERE on SW!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Daily, but I am mindful of who is in my presence..now if I'm home alone, I am the offspring of a trucker and a sailor! I'm a special kind of hybrid..
I keep it pretty on here out of respect.

I swear a lot but mostly because of my outbursts, other wise I try not to

The use of the f word is swearing to me. All the rest is mostly kid's stuff.
I never heard my parents use that word so I guess I'm making up for it...

As a general rule, I try to avoid swearing as much as possible.
Whenever I feel tempted to swear out of anger or frustration, I either substitute actual swearing with unintelligible gibberish, Use bowdlerized, family-friendly equivalents of English swear words, or swear in any language other that isn't in English.
Most of the time, my go-to language for non-English swear words is Japanese.
Words such as "kusottare!" "bakayarou!" "kutabare!" "Okama!" and "Gesuyarou!," just to name a few.

Every day.
Possibly every hour.
Swear words are fucking useful. They are fantastic adjectives, nouns and adverbs.
All languages have them and they should be enjoyed. ;)

Seriously, almost never. 🤐
I swear like a longshoreman on shore leave even when I'm in a good mood, but I don't typically count how many times I use swear words because I've never been audited by the Internal Swearing Agency before.
