I don't recall having a physical prime

JustNik · 51-55, F Best Comment
30-40. Old enough to value my health and young enough that I didn’t have to work around any pain. Lord that was nice. 😅
TexChik · F
I have always been an athlete . Dance , martial arts , and softball plus working at the farm kept me in shape . I was a scholarship athlete in college. When I was 19 I was getting jacked …then I tore my ACL and MCL . There went softball . I stuck with dance and martial arts and did more working out while I went through Grad/Professional school. I slimmed up a lot . Then I graduated and got a job. I worked too much and only worked out and did kickboxing in a diminished capacity . After I married ( I married and absolute stud ) I wanted to work out more. A lot more . Dance and kick boxing and daily workouts really helped with my PTSD . I killed my self getting ready for a beauty contest my husband entered me in ( Mrs. Fitness ). I started body building . So at 23 , after that contest … that was my fitness peak! At 40 I am still in very good shape , but not as good as then . 😉

@TexChik OMG, I am so sorry. I can't even imagine. You sound like you have overcome
most of it as well as can be expected. My dad went through some very horrible stuff in WWII,
but at least he was an adult. It breaks my heart when this shit happens to kids. I hope
someday the night mares subside. My dad did not let the war affect his awake life,
he was a good father and husband, but the nightmares never ended, even while in hospice.
I imagine your health and fitness helps. I wish I knew the right words.
I do wish for your future dreams to be pleasant ones, and your waking hours to be
filled with happiness, you deserve it.

TexChik · F
@DogMan Thanks . The dreams happen but are more annoying than terrifying . I have been very lucky in being able to find ways to cope and being strong enough not to surrender to it.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@TexChik That's cause your a Texas Chick. 😉 Your husband is a lucky guy.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I could work all day with a couple 15 minutes breaks for meals when I was in my 20’s and not get winded or that tired.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Hmmm ...

Physical prime, about 40.
Mental prime, about 65
Emotionally prime, about 81
Best composite prime, in another year or two.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I looked my best at 35, because I was at my smallest weight ever. But I did it by starving and over-exercising, so I felt like sh*t all the time and my hair was falling out.
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
18 it's been all down hill from there...
Peak was around 27 - 28, but worked out regularly and stayed in shape after. Injuries caused me to slow in my mid 40s. Cut back on the weight lifting, added Pilates to the workout routine to improve core and flexibility.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Uhh, I don't know, all my life something was wrong at one time or another so far. Nothing serious but there always is some kind of problem.
DogMan · 61-69, M
From my military days, all the way to my early 50's. I have been a gym rat for over 40 years.
but now at almost 64, I have reached some limitations. I don't climb trees to trim them anymore.
And I don't do the mountaineering things anymore. Used to Rock climb, backpack, winter mountaineering, Canyoneering etc. Now I just 4 wheel to beautiful places.
exexec · 61-69, C
18. All set to play college football, then blew out a knee
40, actually. I was very active, taking dance classes and hitting the gym regularly, I walked everywhere and people thought I was years younger. Nothing hurt yet, either. 😅
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
I'm still improving.
Magenta · F
Hmm idk. I was a late bloomer for one thing. I want to say 40ish plus, but it's been a while to remember. ;-)
Elanor · F
I think you’re a beautiful lady .. you have such wholesome femininity about you and you’re intelligent 😌

@Magenta
Magenta · F
@Elanor Aw well what a most lovely kind thing to say. Thank you. 🩷🌷
Elanor · F
np 😉 I’m just an admirer from afar, take care 🩵🫡@Magenta
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Probably in my mid-20s. I was able to do just anything physically and had great stamina.
I still play tennis, but I cant run as fast or for as long as I did back then.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
This shouldn’t be stated as an opinion question . There’s factual information that answers that question .
For men it’s 29, women 26.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@AthrillatheHunt Well, it depends how you look at it. If a person waits until their 40's before
exercising. And gets in the best shape of their life. That becomes his/her prime. But I know
what you are saying. If they did the same thing at a younger age, they would be better.

@AthrillatheHunt Maybe it should be called Biological Prime. Or Natural Prime.
When I think of Physical Prime, I take training into consideration.☺️

19 it was the following summer after highschool. I was lead carpenter on a sundeck crew. Toting all that heavy pressure treated lumber. I was definitely in shape.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@DogMan Yes it will! In those days we didn't have air nailers so we hand nailed everything. Between swinging that hammer all day and toting that pressure treated lumber I was the man! 🙂
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Musicman Lol, When I was in the Air Force, working on fighter jets, we had to use a speed handle, as there were no cordless drills.
Some skin panels had a hundred little screws.
Maybe that is why I have arthritis in my shoulder now. 🤔
Musicman · 61-69, M
@DogMan I bet you are right. One day years later my help called off for the day so my wife came with me. I was nailing plywood sheathing to the walls. About 10 am my compressor broke. So I had a choice. I could stop the job and go buy a compressor or I could hand nail for the rest of the day. I chose the latter. That evening on the way home we pulled into Home Depot and I have never been happier spending money on a new compressor in my life! Lol!!! My poor arm was wore out! 😢
I have various ages. When I played soccer with men at 51. When I lived in Texas. 35 to 37. Now, though slower, still lovely in mind and body and spirit. As a teenager. Long blonde hair. A reader and academica d writer. All ages have merit.
Fullmetal · 46-50, M
19, i did half a sit up!!
17 when I went through basic. Definitely was in great shape.

However, I think 27 or 28 bc I was running every week while I was stationed in S. Korea. That humidity was a "nice" wall to run through.
revenant · F
All my 20s and early 30s. I walked everywhere, had lots of stamina, did not need much sleep, never sick, hair grew long fast
fakable · T
16

usually peaks around age 25
however, a change in lifestyle toward sports and nutrition can shift that peak by decades
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I think in my 30's. I was running every day and was very fit. In my early 20's is when I was the most muscular.
ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F
Probably now and hoping to only get better
Feeling like I'm barely about to get into mine 👌
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
18 until my 30s but we were all machines at that age
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
I don't feel like I've had my prime yet
Probably like 10. I could do flips lol
I think, around 30.
NovaNine · 56-60, M
Probably in my 20s
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Josh1454 That is very specific. Must have been a fun year. Were you in prison? Lol
Josh1454 · M
@DogMan I was hitting the gym 6-7 days a week for 3 hours a day. I was in good shape at 17-18 but I could run farther and lift more at 33 and mostly 33-35.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Josh1454 Yeah, I bet you were in good shape 👍 Even when I was involved in Mountaineering
I was only working out 1 1/2 - 2 hours a day 1/2 cardio 1/2 weight lifting, 6 days a week. I'm
almost 64, and still work out a lot. I average over 100 zone minutes a day according to my fit bit.
and I average 15k steps a day. I lift a lot, but much lighter weights. I would be pretty ripped if
I didn't like my two daily beers after the gym so much. ☺️
AdaXI · 41-45, T
About 35 ish.
