I go through phases, and I don’t have a favorite right now. But I have been getting KFC from time to time. I’ve never been to an A&W, but I would if I came across one

@itsok Their root beer is to die for. As far as their food, I like it too
This brings to mind the lack of respect for hot dogs :( Seriously, few things in the fast food world can top a Chicago Style Hot Dog, but there aren't very many fast food places that honor the beloved hot dogs.
The fast food places that specialize in great hot dogs tend to be one-of-a-kind places, except maybe for NYC's Nathan's. And COSTCO's and Sam's Hot Dog Specials.
@Dolimyte I had my hopes up for Harvey's, but ....
We have a Harvey's at the Union Station in KC mid-town. I just checked the menu and no hotdogs :( Maybe a different Harvey's or that each Harvey's has its own localized menu.
A&W sort of thinned out locally, but supposedly they have plans to add 3 or 4 back in to our area.
I like the Chili-dogs at Sonic, but remember the better A&W hotdogs from when they were more a hot dog place. Their root beer is the best.
@Heartlander it's a national chain across Canada with a standardized menu, so you're local place is probably named the same by coincidence. Sorry to get your hopes up.
@Dolimyte Now that I think about it a little more, Harvey's was also a US restaurant chain in the era of the railroads where they coexisted with passenger rail stations, at least in the bigger cities. Like in the 1890s to 1940s. The waitresses were known as Harvey's girls and lived in company dorms and had strict dress and conduct standards. They brought our Union Station (Kansas City) up from the grave in the 1990s and there was a bit of attention to recapturing the essence of Harvey's when they did.
The name may well be the same as Canada's Harvey's considering how Canada didn't destroy their passenger trains systems as thoroughly as we did in the US.
I like them all. The ones that float to the top are maybe Arby's, Cain's, Chick Fil-A, Freddie's, Shake Shack, Sonic, Popeye's. They all have something I like.
Maybe at the top of my list would be a drive-through Greek place that closed down a few years ago because they loss their lease. We found another Greek place but it didn't have a drive through. Few things better than a Gyro + a Greek salad and a lemonade spiked with a tint of anise.
@Husher They are ok. I'd definitely go elsewhere for fries if that was what I craved. I don't usually even get fries. I only got them today because I got a coupon for free fries in my case of of root beer. My favourite fries are the Cajun fries from Popeyes.
