Do you ever drink bathroom water?

I don't feel like going to the kitchen in the middle of the night, so I occasionally drink water from the bathroom sink. Anyone do this? 🥺😄😮

here there's only 1 main line that comes into the house. all the fresh water comes from connections off of that. there is also a sanitary line that leads out to the sewer line under the road. the fresh water and sewerage never come in contact with each other. I'm not a plumber but it doesn't take much to know that

No different than if not better than drinking from a garden hose as I often did as a kid. I just let it run a while before drinking.

That's actually what you're supposed to do when drinking from any public fountain. Run it a while before drinking it.
Reminds me of the time I was casually conversing with one of my neighbors (an elected town Counselman).

He asked my opinion on an issue where the fluoridation equipment at the water treatment plant had apparently been malfunctioning for several months (not adding fluoride to the municipal water supply).

My reply: "Really not an issue David, only dogs and cats drink the tap water here, it tastes that bad....."

FWIW, I keep a bottled water on my nightstand for "middle of the night" occasions
@Threepio I keep a bottle for the same reason.

I have, when I didn't drink for 3 or 4 days (fasting).
I was washing my hands and couldn't take it any longer. I cupped my hand and rushed down the sweetest tank water I've had in my life.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@Matt85 Wow...that would be severe dehydration. Thats not a regular practice right?
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@Baybreeze I don't usually fast water(or soft drinks) just food usually. Thankyou for your concern. :)

All my household water is filtered rainwater so no difference what tap it comes out of.
itsok · 31-35, F
The tap water here is gross, so I only use the water from my filtration system, or sometimes I’ll use bottles of water.

Once, when I was desperate to rehydrate myself, I drank from the showerhead while having a shower.
sarabee1995 · 31-35, F
Pretty much every morning, yes. I get up, hit the bathroom, and head out for my run, etc. While in the bathroom I almost every day drink maybe half a glass of water after brushing my teeth.
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
Not from the toilet. 🤢
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
No, since everything is on one floor and close.

But it is probably fine.

When I was a kid we'd use the bathroom sink, rather than go downstairs to the kitchen.
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
Yes all the time. I don't see the issue here.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@Cigarguys I think bathroom sink runs from a different tank and the concern is if the water has any bacteria .
Vin53 · M
@Baybreeze You have 2 separate potable water tanks?
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
@Baybreeze no it's all from the same place
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
Every day. In my house it all comes from the same source as my kitchen sink water
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
Well from the sink not the toilet. Its the same water in any pipe.
Teslin · M
It's all from the same well, so why not ?
Classified · M
Plenty of times, but we got very clean tap water
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
It is theoretically the same water.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
Of course! It's the best water 😍
ValeriaVonDisney · 22-25, F
Nope, don't drink tap water.
TexasDude · 36-40, M
All the time. Tap water is tap water
meggie · F
Yeah i only drink tap water at home
2ndtimeguy · 61-69, M
Yes we have cups on the vanity but God forbid I drink from my wifes cup!
GovanDUNNY · M
As long as you run the tap for a while you should be fine .You have to be careful of amoeba brain bugs.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@GovanDUNNY ugh I had an amoeba in my stomach when I was a kid from drinking lake water straight from the lake
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Of course -- it's the same water from the same source coming through the same pipes as any other tap water in the house.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@ChipmunkErnie It said onli ne sometimes bathroom comes from a different tank or supply? And that the concern is bacteria..but I try to trust its ok. I drink it every couple days lol
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
@Baybreeze whoever told you this is wrong
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Baybreeze No same tank -- at least every place I've ever heard of. BUT I have heard online that water from the hot water heater MIGHT have bacteria simply because it sits there heated.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
lol it's okay it's just tap water you're fine.

I do this all the time and even as a kid
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
Thank God you said bathroom sink, Geesh girl with this being you I was afraid to keep reading to see where you were getting your sip from in the bathroom. LOL
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
Oh, yes bathroom sink, but there is always bottle of water on headboard somewhere. I just need to knock all the other crap off into my bed while looking for that water bottle. LOL
I don’t, but I know that the water doesn’t taste very good. I have a filter on the kitchen sink.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard I wish everybody could enjoy clean, pure water out of the ground. Why is that such a hard thing?
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
Sure. Unless someone has jank ass pipes or a nasty faucet or something, there's no reason why bathroom water can't be drank
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
Only when I hate myself.

Does anyone else from Florida think the water tastes like absolute ass?
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
Makes sence

I'm fortunate in that my parents bought probably the last piece of land in Sherwood that has a well on it, so I don't worry about the quality of water, no matter which tap I pour it out of.
