Find a different way to get into computers. I was pretty much forced into the Air Force. Yet was cheated out of the computer career that I really wanted there.

understand sex and relationships. At 18 I knew nothing about either.

Re-connect with my dad who divorced my mum when I was 12, and who I became emotionally estranged from in the years following. Sadly deceased in 2011 - rip dad.

Hard to say. I was chasing a pro baseball career at that time, which I would never have changed. But, in doing so I left college early when presented with an opportunity to play that I could never pass on. But, if I knew that a major injury would eventually derail that 5 years later, I would have joined the military

More time with my dad.

Change a few mistakes but basically the same damn things. It's been a good ride. While i hated every minute I was in Vietnam I wouldn't trade the experience and things I learned for anything.

Edit: I wouldn't want any other family either.

@MoveAlong Thank you for your service! Much respect!

Get into the car that stopped at the lights at 9pm one night as I was crossing. The car full of girls who opened the window to invite me to join them.

@katydidnt they might have been serial killers (or vampires!) But I still wonder what might have happened had I got in that car. There was five of them, driver, front passenger and three girls in the back. They hollered out to me to get in because they wanted to have a party with me. I was so surprised. Then the lights changed and the passenger shouted, "Too slow!" And they drove off.

@Richard65 We all have our varied shares of sighs and whews from our uninformed years. Detritus on the long path to wisdom. 🙂

When I was 18 I was busier than I am now. I had guinea pigs and gerbils and I went to college. Not much I wanted to do differently in those days. If I was 18 in these slightly more modern times I might have wanted to become a TikTok creator.

I’d be on the Biff Tannen plan, and I’d build my empire by betting on every Super Bowl and World Series winner for the next 30+ years.

Join the navy.
Maybe get involved with the technology side of things whether it be communications or sonar.
Go back to school on a fast track for an Ed.D.
And stay until it was completed.
Invest heavily in FB and bitcoin
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout In 2009 I was told about bitcoin when 1,500 coins cost one dollar, now it's worth how much PER COIN? I thought it was a scam at the time, $100 worth 16 years ago would be hundrends on millions now, possibly even one billion dollars or more.

Choose a different career path and invest heavily in Apple, Amazon and Microsoft. I definitely wouldn't buy all the toys that I did. All that money could have been invested.
