Why? I need to get it together...

Eat healthier
Exercise
Lose Weight

But I just don't seem to have the energy or will power. Any ideas?

watch a show about people losing weight to get inspired. use music to motivate once started. expect it to suck at first. buy magnesium flakes before you start to take soothing baths during the beginning. don't diet the same every day. restrict calories for a few days, resume calorie intake for a day, then keep alternating. this will help you bypass all plateaus. get all your calories from food and none from drinks, except protein drinks like milk that count as food. i also take l-lysine (an amino acid) to support muscle gain and prevent muscle loss. it also makes the actual workouts easier. but it's up to the individual and health care provider to decide what medications/supplements are right for them. the main thing to lose weight is restricting calories intermittently, but the best way to look good, feel good - mentally and physically, and put your overall metabolism into gear by building muscle is exercise.

starting out, one exercise i highly recommend, esp for women, is bridges. they build your core in a way that supports doing other exercises without getting injured.

Do NOT diet but healthy eat.
Do NOT exercise but walk than car seat.
Do NOT trudged thru the day.
Do NOT feel in dismay.

Make small changes every day.
You know whats right i would say.
Cut back here and there.
Then one day you will mirror stare.

See the new you smiling back.
Now give yourself some little slack.
Great improvements have been made.
With your lifes planned clearly laid.

For me the actual weight loss comes from healthier eating, but the exercise is what makes me feel better and WANT to eat healthier. Are there places you can walk as pet of daily routines? Like to get a coffee or buy a paper, or walk the cat? 🤣
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Harmonium1923 Oh yeah! We have a beautiful lake with a walking path around it right across the street.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@MeowsoliniReturns Be the path!
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Harmonium1923 😂 This will be my mantra!

force yourself into doing it. The hardest part is getting yourself motivated, just gotta force it.
you will get more energy for sure by doing those things
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Torsten Thank you for the inspiration! I appreciate it very much!
Torsten · 36-40, M
@MeowsoliniReturns no worries. Oh another good tip is to have fun with it. Do exercises you enjoy, eat heathier food you actually like and so on
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Torsten Excellent!

I weigh myself every single morning...this has been helpful to me...

Also, I find lowering calories is really important - I found that depending on exercise for weight control no longer works since my metabolism is much slower these days...

And stick with it! A bad day is just that...Good Luck!

For me, it was realizing that the effort is for my benefit and no one else’s. Once I understood that, I was able to begin changing my habits.

Start small but be consistent.

I wish you good luck and happiness as you start.

@Lumberjack70 Thank you for this!

I know this is an older post, but I say find something you love to do. When I was younger, I loved pretending I was a super-hero so I would learn how to do jump-kicks and try to flip around. I love dance music and high energy beats because it makes you want to get up and move. Little things like this adds up and when you look at your exercise of choice as FUN instead of a WORK-out, it becomes easier.

Also losing weight and losing fat is different. Look at your body composition, not the number because it can discourage you.

Yeah, eating healthy is the hardest thing, but instead of cutting foods out, cut portions and slowly but surely your body will adapt.

I'm going through this process now and it's tough, but it can help get you through.

Exercise is a case of doing something active you enjoy
Be it hiking in forests or along cliffs or even dancing. Theres a lot of variety
Eating healthy is pretty easy but i know its starting it.
I cut out sugar mainly that helped stay away from sugary treats tbh and ate more things with natural sugars

Its always worth, if you have a nearby friend, to ask them to join you?
My partner eats healthy with me but we do different types of exercise lol
