Hamas warrior (sends email to a luxury hotel in Qatar): "We need more pictures of dying children in the press, for our just cause. Let's send some more rockets to Israel so they will attack the launching place!" –
Hamas chieftain (replying from Qatar): "Yes, let's place the rocket launcher in a kindergarden!"
[edited because someone accused me of anti-semitism (!!!)]
due to most of your answers, you are relegated to the bottom of the list, way below and after me wiping shit off my shoe {should it ever be on a list, or on my shoe}
why exactly is israel and palestine more news then saudi arabia and yemen... or the situation in myan mar... or china and tibet...
as bad as it is.. it is a small scale local conflict that happens all the time everywhere around the world but for some reason this gets so much more attention then it really deserves
@Experienced33 Trump was and still is a moron. The fact you believe that proves you are not very bright and just parrot whatever the blondes at Fox tell you to think.
@WandererTony I get that. I bring up 1917 because that is when people in the British government started to look at Zionism as something serious. Before that it was a fringe movement in fringe communities with no real political power.
@WandererTony It is like Quebec separatism in Canada. There was a point when it was mostly intellectual masturbation in some academic circles in Montreal and and clear points in history when that movement gained political power to actually try something.
All over the world, military uniforms must have these things: flag, unit patch, rank, and name. (I was in the Army). I would not be surprised if Hammas created this photo.
@BigGuy2 Yes. You mentioned a good point. I don't support either Israel or Palestine. But you cannot judge based on a picture in today's world that the media is always brainwashing people.
This picture is nearly 6 years old. Here's what an Israeli columnist for Haaretz said about it at the time (Sept 2015):
Whatever these men and their immediate commanders are telling themselves, the true underlying reason more soldiers are covering their faces is shame. They know our politicians have put them in an impossible situation where they can never win. No decent person, no matter his politics, wants to go home for Shabbat and see himself online manhandling children and women. Today’s young soldiers are by now a third generation enforcing an occupation that is eating away at our army and our society.
Whatever you think of the Palestinian national struggle, you don’t get to choose the other side’s weapons. The people of Nabi Saleh, with the help of foreign volunteers, put on the weekly show for the media because it’s compelling, it works. Anyway, if the only issue here was one of appearances, then why is the I.D.F. providing extras every week for the show?
The big story today, is the 11 Palestinian children, being treated for trauma by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), ages 5 to 15, who were killed by an Israeli airstrike.
Israeli needs to immediately stop its bombing campaign. It is not possible for Netanyahu to achieve his goal: shut Hamas down forever. This can only happen as part of negotiated settlement, involving all Palestinian factions.
Israel will never pull the settlers out of the West Bank. They tried that with Gaza, and instead of peace, they ended up with Hamas.
This is an apples to oranges comparison and it does not establish causality.
It's not possible to negotiate with people whose idea of compromise is killing you.
There's some of that on both sides, but there's also more voices for peace in the West Bank and no common political agenda between the PA and Hamas.
The only way forward is unification, not creating an unviable Palestine in two parts separated by Israel.
As the joke goes, a Jewish Israeli man is flirting with an Israeli Arab woman. He says, what would I get if I gave a flower, she says, we can hold hands, and what would I get if I gave you a bouquet, we can kiss for a while, and what would I get if I gave you a ring, she leans in and whisper in his ear: an Arab Prime Minister.
A single country, is going to be an apartheid country, with one side (Jews) having more rights than the other side (Arabs). It is not workable. Gaza will need at least a generation outside of Hamas's death grip, to start recovering psychologically.
The Sheik Jarrah residents agreed to pay rent. The fact that they were even able to participate in a court case shows how different Israel is from the countries that surround it. There is no legal mechanism whatsoever for Jews who were ethnically cleansed from the Arab world to request compensation for their own lost property.
Whataboutism does not work, and the assumption that Arab = Muslim = they all look the same to me, is false bigly. There's only one democracy in the Levant, other than Israel and that is Lebanon, a country with zero political power, and with no forced evacuations of Jews.
Until Hamas and its benefactors give up their dream of a judenrein Middle East, there will never be peace. In the 1990s, two Israeli generals visited Võ Nguyên Giáp when he was the Vietnamese Minister of Defense. During the visit, Giáp mentioned that he had also been visited by Palestinian leaders, who asked him, since he had managed to kick both the French and the Americans out of Vietnam, how they could kick the Jews out of Israel.
The two generals asked him what he told them. Giáp said his response was, the French went back to France, and the Americans went back to the U.S., but since the Israelis have nowhere else to go, the Palestinians will never get rid of them.
I see that you're still sourcing exclusively from Seth Klarman's carefully reworked history. This story is fabricated. Nevertheless, yes, the Jews are not going anywhere and the Arabs are not going anywhere either.
You can rehash the past and bemoan how Israel was created, but ultimately everyone will have to accept that both Israelis and Palestinians have a legitimate claim to the land and neither of them are going anywhere.
Most certainly but the propaganda that's allowing Israel's generals to keep feeding the armed fortress mentality, is that Palestinians do not recognize Israel's right to exist, something the PA dropped decades ago.
@Northwest The PA is not Hamas. If Iran and the other Islamist actors turned off the spigot, Hamas would disappear.
Which is why any lasting peace will have to involve all of the countries in the region, not just Israel and the PA as if no one else is involved.
Interestingly, the Jewish birthrate in Israel and the Occupied Territories now exceeds the Palestinian one, even if you include Gaza, which has one of the highest birthrates in the world. It's not certain that unification would make Jews a minority.
You were talking about the West Bank and my response is around the West Bank. The PA is the West Bank and Hamas killed all the PA officials in Gaza a few years ago.
If Iran and the other Islamist actors turned off the spigot, Hamas would disappear.
This is the cornerstone of the Biden Gaza plan. To have reasonable Arab countries, the EU and the US rebuild Gaza. Currently, those other countries are Gaza's lifeline.
It's not certain that unification would make Jews a minority.
Everyone out there seems to think differently. When the Soviet Union allowed Jews to immigrate to Israel, 95% of the immigrants only made a quick stop in Israel, next stop: Silicon Valley. They were replaced with the brainless Orthodox.
That forced Israel to make some modifications, as a whole bunch of non-religious people made it as well, and quite a few of the "single" women, were controlled by Soviet mobsters. Based on my own observation, it turned the Tel Aviv beachfront boulevard, into prostitution central.
The Israelis don't give a fuck, their own lawmakers said it themselves. Ayalet Shaked's letter to Netanyahu contained the quote "We must kill Palestinian mothers before they give birth to any more little snakes."
And the Americans don't give a fuck either. We've been blockading and bombing Yemen for seven years now. An estimated 96,000 children between the ages of 1 and 5 years old have starved to death because of that blockade. We've killed almost one hundred thousand children, and nobody fucking cares. Abusing children is like second nature to this country's military, whether they be Palestinian, Yemeni, Syrian, or otherwise.
It's absolutely appalling, and I don't know what to do about it.
@Experienced33 The link goes to your post lol. So according to you, Iran is arming Hamas? Sorry if I take the word of the US State Department over you.
@BlueMetalChick Iran is among the Islamist groups that are arming Hamas. They're not doing it because they like Hamas, it's more to do with jockeying for position as the dominant regional Islamic power vis-a-vis the Saudis.
Not ideal.. I'm not a Isreal supporter.. but I don't believe the media in a lot if ways. But mostly I think they are being an abusive super power in the middle east.
@BlueMetalChick It was Israel that started the attack on the Palestinians in the mosque. When the anger of the Israelis increased, they began a campaign of arrests and attacks, and it is natural for the Palestinians to defend themselves and their region. Israel tightens the screws on the Palestinians and seizes their homes by force until they control the Al-Aqsa Mosque area. She tried to buy their houses around the mosque, and when the Palestinians refused, Israel seized their homes. It has carried out a campaign of arrests, and it is natural for Hamas to defend the Palestinians. If they had not, it would have gotten worse. You blame Hamas for firing the rockets. Palestine does not have an army to defend it, while Israel has an army and advanced weapons, is this fair? Israel has practiced oppressions against the Palestinians for years and the world is ignoring it. When Hamas bombed Israel, suddenly the world sympathized with Israel while they brutally murdered children and innocent people.
Hamas do not recognize Israel or willing to give up killing . Most of Hamas leaders live in luxury in Turkey. They took over Gaza , they are listed as terror organization all over the world. Palestinian people voted them in. In so densely populated area as Gaza , civilians will suffer . Whether now or in future I don't see any change for better outcome. Gaza is run by terrorists and Israel by right wing government. Common sense would be , you don't throw a stone at the lion and expect to win . Pictures of civilians suffering are the same over the world , but it does not stop people buying products made in China or others.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Israel is surrounded by people who have the same goals as Hitler: the extinction of the jews. It's funny watching the progressive left defend these genocidal terrorists while calling everyone they disagree with "nazis."
@Khenpal1 That makes no sense. Israel and China have been building closer relations for decades. China has no interest in prolonging this conflict, it's bad for business.
@WandererTony happened plenty of times when I was in Afghanistan and Iraq... kids walking up to convoys with as much explosive as someone could strap to them; so brainwashed and indoctrinated to believe that blowing themselves and anyone else who doesn't share their beliefs with them is somehow "holy" and "righteous", even if they take out a dozen of their own as collateral damage in the process
@wildbill83 and the more I look at the pics it looks like the soldier is not hurting him it looks like the kid is upset but look at how he is holding him it’s like he is restraining him, not Like forceful trying to hurt him
The Palestinians use child soldiers as human shields. They also use photos for propaganda.. Tbis is not as clearcut as you seem to think. Don't believe "the squad" BS Hamas you surely will be believing a big lie!
Hamas wants to drive Israel into the sea. Destroy her people. They started it , launching thousands of rockets on them. So now they cry when hit back. Both sides have to change thinking. Israel must stop forcing people from their homes. The Palestinians must say that Israel exists.
Do Hamas have a right to fire rockets indiscriminately at Israel? Children are killed in Palestine by Hamas rockets misfiring. Hamas don’t care - the more carnage the better. Don’t believe everything you read
@Grvstu Ughhhhh what a tired, sad fucking argument "B-b-but Hamas!" We get it, we know Hamas sucks, nobody defends Hamas. Nobody likes Hamas. The existence of Hamas doesn't mean you can indiscriminately murder thousands of people. This is like the Russians were to carpet bomb American cities and say "But the KKK existed in those cities and they're really bad and they terrorize people!"
@Grvstu First of all, it's 5:30 p.m. so why would I be going to sleep.
Secondly, did you just refer to the sentiment of not killing thousands of people indiscriminately as "left wing propaganda?" So you DON'T think there's a problem with ethnic cleansing?
I'm sorry, but I really can't help you. You might want to try moving somewhere like, say, Iran if you think that's acceptable.
@WandererTony Hamas will continue their pointless and self-destructive program as long as outside actors keep paying for it. Each of those rockets costs $45,000; the tunnels cost millions. Meanwhile, the Hamas leadership lives in luxury in the UAE while the people of Gaza have nothing.
A UN resolution that doesn't also condemn Hamas would be meaningless.
@LeopoldBloom Fully agree with you! But i dont think that Hamas has to pay for those rockets. Where do they get the money to pay anyway? They too are puppets in a larger game. Peace in middle east would mean lost business for big players.
@HeilHitler That is a sick and quite LITERALLY an insane thing to say!! You should be ashamed of yourself! For even thinking that much less saying that! Obviously you are not at all educated about the horrors the Jewish people suffered are you?? GET EDUCATED you vile ignorant bedased person. Where do people like you even come from? What cause you to say such a terrible thing? Repent girl! Repent
@LeopoldBloom If the war was in your country and the enemy was bombing you with missiles, would you sit and watch or respond to them? In both cases, the Palestinian people are affected, whether or not Hamas stops. For this it is better to resist the enemy.
@Sarah1 My point is that it's a war crime to place military installations in civilian buildings. But it's effective if people like you aren't aware of that and just see dead kids.
@Sarah1 of course children, and adults, deserve to live on peace. Thus the objection to Hamas terror.
Read the link. The photo is a child who had birthmarks , living in another country. And they are presenting her as a victim of Israel? Another photo they have been distributing is a 4 year old girl who was indeed killed - in Syria by other Syrians ...
My point is that the are Lying to you with these photos....
Hamas fires rockets indiscriminately into Israel which are aimed at killing Israeli children. Many of them go astray and kill Palestinian children which Hamas doesn’t care about because it just adds to the casualty list which they can claim. Do you think this is right? Wake up
@BigGuy2 No, you haven't "given me countless FACTS about the situation." What you did was, you told me I'm wrong, and then when I buried you under sources for the better part of two weeks, you just repeatedly said "Nope that's not true, nope don't like it no way."
and you believe Palestinian rockets are not being fired indiscriminately Israel and killing Palestinian children on the way.
Where did I say I believe that? Show me, right now, where I said that. No, really. Quote me. Copy paste anything I've ever said that has told you, or anyone else, that Hamas has not fired rockets into Israel.
a "soldier" with no flags, no unit patches, no name, no rank, wearing a hood that looks like it came from cabela's, armed with what appears to be a ShAK-12 (Russian Bullpup)
and somehow it get's implied that he's Israeli...lol
Attacking military targets rather than fire rockets blindly. I have no sympathy for hamas. Never will for damn towel heads. I hope Israel manages to wipe them off the face of the Earth.
@MrSmooTh Hamas does not recognise Isreal. So the land you call Israel is itself occupied territory as per Hamas. So by their own definition they are resistance fighters. Like the french in WW2. Does that make sense? Or you still feel they are terrorists since Isreal has an army and Palestine does not?
@BlueMetalChick So Israel should just accept that Hamas will keep firing rockets forever? If the military capabilities of Hamas and Israel were reversed, what do you think would happen?
Israeli army should be bombed and neutralized by the world.they are terrorists and every peace loving jew/muslim in middleeast is suffering because of it.
People complain about hamas rockets, they fail to reaslise that israel bombs with 300 f16s that are capable to destroy highrise buildings in seconds while hamas fires homemade rocket that are good for nothing.look at death toll and see who is terrorist here..12 israelis die against 230 palestinans
Please for the love of all you deem important..stop this nonsense..we are human beings..this is propaganda...get woke!! As you millennials like to say..we all bleed red, when we're pushed over we fall against the garbage can we we were not expecting....(;
Do children have the right to try to kill soldiers? The clip (which is from years ago...) was edited so you don’t see the “child”s lethal attack on the soldier..... And you do know that palestinian children that age carry guns too, yes?
@WandererTony was years ago - I don’t. Basically boulders aimed for the head....
As far as apartheid ...check your facts.... Or the list of Arab doctors working in all the Israeli hospitals...on in the parliament, etc.....
The prime injustice and murder they have seen is the terrorism (have you ever seen a bus blow up? Or children shot or stabbed in their beds? Quite unpleasant....)perpetrated by their own...... Unfortunately they seem unable to stand up to it - which is indeed sad.
@Flipper111 Boulders aimed by impoverished children at the heads of armoured Israeli soldiers. The david goliath story has gone into your head LOL.
Yes, i will call it apartheid, if check points prevent palestinians access to their own lanes. Arab doctors in Isreali hospitals cannot nullify that. Did you see the video of arab lynching in Isreal 3 days back. The guy on the car. He died today from the injuries. The isreali public did it. Thats the heart of the population. Army didnt do it.
The bus blowing is only one part of the story. Why do you use it to justify all agression? 200 dead this week including 60 children due to isreali bombing. Those hamas toys are nothing compared to the isreali artillary. 3500 rockets kill 10. What a joke.
@WandererTony maybe because Israelis hide on bomb shelters they build. While hamas builds no shelters, and hide behind civilians - including inside hospitals and schools, and sharing a building with foreign press intentionally....
I will not bother to respond beyond this. - you can choose what to believe.
