What's the longest you've seen a coworker get away with doing absolutely nothing?

About five years. Eventually he did get caught sleeping and arguing with the boss. And I took over his place and he was fired.

I'm the only person I know of, that got letters of recommendation, for following the state rules at that place. If you do nothing, you'll get no recommendations at all either.

I managed to keep the position over a company sell out. Yet the new company thought it was cheeper to just not follow the rules.

So under the new company he would never have gotten fired like I eventually did after seven years.

It all depends on the company and just how greedy the company is. The public most certainly does not want to follow the rules.

And actually working can cost the company money along with public complaints.

To this date, it's still illegal to dump hazardous waste!

This new federal administration will most certainly undo these federal laws and make it hard on states to keep any such rules.

I find it ironic that DEI would have made it possible for the guy to get a education and follow the rules. He had no education at all. Couldn't even file his own taxes, since I am the one that filed his taxes.

I've worked in the Pacific Northwest with slow and no movement being the only tolerared mode. Before covid the nothing to do crews of ten cleaners failed to do the job I do alone in one fourth the time! It's better now, doing the work alone that ten people used to avoid doing for eight hours - in four hours. Working is okay, shirking hurts!!!

I first started out many years ago worked with a guy who was my boss who did nothing and if it went wrong it was my fault. So I started keeping detailed reports when I gave him the information he requested with in a couple months they fired him. Found out later he had never taken à vacation in 7years because he he didnt want the company to know he was doing nothing.

There was a woman I use to know. She would tell us what to do first thing in the morning then just disappeared she did this for months maybe longer. Our storage room there was a upper floor we just put stuff up there to get it out of the way. Omg I heard the fare left corner of the room she made herself a bedroom. I guess her husband kicked her out and she was staying there.

Probably over ten years. I’ve had supervisors who know less than me make more than me off the fruits of my labor.

I worked in retail. Very few coworkers did anything. The only reason I stayed busy was because just standing around was boring.

12 years. I forget why, but they couldn't fire him for some reason, so they just took all his duties away from him. Except for one day of the year where he cooked a big breakfast for everybody, he spent the rest of his time playing cards on the computer.

My employee would say three years

Caught Dick sleeping in the storage area. Always wondered where he would disappear to. I didn't have any authority to fire him but he was gone at the next rif.

A couple of years until she crossed a line with me then I helped get her fired

About like 3 hours......the dishwasher was probably like 4 lol

I was the only one there doing nothing 🙂
