Bookkeeping expenses are quite expensive
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@MarineBob that does separate the real job from the Labour Ready job

I've enver had a job that paid weekly.
I thought this was a. thing of the past.
@atlantic59 ... also there's no weeds out there. its all so very dead still.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@nonsensiclesnail I'm not set up on pay pal- too many mem'ries on so-called pals who never paid
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@nonsensiclesnail I was paid weekly as a supermarket deli worker as a teenager. But the rest of my life has all been bi-weekly.
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
Most jobs I've had paid every two weeks. My current job pays twice a month which is the most weird because it ends up with some weird decimals for hours and such.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@Turtlepower But the total pay won't change, right. You are still getting your yearly salary whether over 26 or 24 pay cheques. Although, very weird that pay day varies. Any accounting dept should a cut off date and should release payroll on a specific date. How do they even function and cloae their books that way.
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@BittersweetPotato yeah, the pay ends up being the same, but it's really weird and inconsistent. It's never late so idc but it's odd. That was my only point originally.
SnailTeeth · 36-40, M
@Turtlepower Same. For the first 2 decades, everyone was paying me bi-weekly. Weekly pay has only been more recent for me, and it's so inexpensive now that many employers use it as a hiring incentive.
once a month works for us
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@BittersweetPotato didn’t ask for your input potato head.

Weekly pay is always nice
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@Bluedreamz I think it’s way better I’ve been lucky so far
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Bluedreamz it helps pay for stuff quicker
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
I got it worse than that. I’m paid on the 1st and 16th.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@AthrillatheHunt but you learn how to adjust, right? It is a bad one though
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@AthrillatheHunt that would kill me
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@AthrillatheHunt that's similar to me. 15th and 30th (28th in February)
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Don't ever go to Europe, lol. 😂
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@CrazyMusicLover shitttttt
PatKirby · M
@CrazyMusicLover

Wondering how much they take out of your paycheck.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
it's because 'bi' is the new preference and they need to be politically correct. I wear my bi secretly but I love the weekly or bi-weekly. I'd even take it 'weakly'
PatKirby · M
Get paid weekly, love it not complaining.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@PatKirby I stopped myself from applying to some jobs because they paid bi weekly
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
What were you expecting?
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@Moneyonmymind no one said you were🤷🏾‍♀️ i am explaining why weekly pay is not the most common or expected thing, since elsewhere in the world, it is even longer term than biweekly. But clearly you didn't get it.

BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F

i always was i thought it was normal
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@DigitalBushido nope all the jobs I’ve held paid every week
DigitalBushido · 18-21, M
@Moneyonmymind what kind of jobs?
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@DigitalBushido mostly warehouse retail and food service
Lostpoet · M
It's probably something to do with taxes
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
Mordechai · 31-35, M
I get paid weekly. I'd prefer bi tbh but it's convenient
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Cash flow for the economy.
A psychological thing.

If a worker is paid every other week it makes some spend their earnings differently.

They're more likely to make purchases of more expensive goods knowing they only have to wait two weeks before they're paid again.
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
Because they're bisexual
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
Convivial · 26-30, F
It's more or less the norm here... And it's cheaper for the company... No real difference
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
The by weekly has always bothered me because it's too much time in between paychecks.
lostlissa · 36-40, F
It saves money for companies in the payroll department
Is that standard nowadays? I'm only used to monthly payment.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
That is all I`ve ever known in all the years i worked.
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
It’s really inconvenient and inconsiderate to the employee
come2gether · 46-50, M
It seems like you found new work. What did you land?
Convivial · 26-30, F
It's cheaper
CactusJackManson · 51-55, M
Because they are bisexual
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Here in Canada bi-weekly is normal
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@iamonfire696 something tells me I wouldn’t like Canada
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Moneyonmymind it’s not so bad. Healthcare is built into the taxes, schooling is good, there’s lots of good things about Canada.

I have never known a business to pay weekly though.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Update: Sorry, I misread that. I honestly don't know.
