I'm in Sydney,Australia, and am used to thunderstorms - occasionally they can be violent and destructive in some areas of the city.Severe lightning I find pretty unsettling - particularly as I live near the crest of a hill.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@craig7 hey I’m a Craig too and I’m from Sydney Australia😊
exexec · 70-79, C
I enjoy them if I am in a safe place. Lots of lightning is quite a show. I even like our heavy rains of 4 inches or more as long as I don't have to drive in them.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
I think they're cool. We had quite a few of them yesterday, just way too much rainfall though. Seven inches in some places around my town.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
Thunderstorms I enjoy but when they’re accompanied by high damaging winds and tornado warnings then the excitement fades.
we don't get many at all...unless one lives near the mountains or interior...i can't remember when the last time we had one.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
They are awesome when you are in a safe place watching.

I carry a strike detector in my golf bag.
Poppies · 61-69, F
@jackson55 And they don't bring wires down, knocking out the electricity--and thus the water, for those of us on wells
jackson55 · M
@samueltyler2 I have one that came from a local public swimming pool. They updated to some newer equipment.
jackson55 · M
@Poppies I have a generator for that very reason.

It’s storming here right now, a lot of rain. We are in a flood watch but this house is not in a flood zone.
Confined · 56-60, M
Non violent thunderstorms are cool. Always good while I am in bed for the night.
Ozdharma · 61-69, M
I love our big thunderstorms but was away for last week's one
The only one worth mentioning in our area was called Hurricane Hazel and that was in the 1950s...

craig7 · 70-79, M
@rinkydinkydoink I experienced the remnants of Hurricane Frances as they passed over Ontario, when visiting Canada back in 2004 - torrential rain but nothing like "Hazel" 50 years earlier,an event that I have previously read about.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
It hardly ever rains here anymore so I welcome them. As long as there's no hail to destroy my flowers.
devonman · 61-69, M
I love them . They are a rare event in the west of England
slorollin · 41-45, M
They really dont bother me. We're having them here to. Be safe
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
I like thunderstorms. However, if they are serious enough to issue a tornado warning, then I am scared
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
I’m a fan personally.
YoMomma ·
I don't mind them, my dogs dislike them tho
Tumbleweed · F
LOVE them!!!
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
I'm usually busy consoling the dog to enjoy them myself.
Usually welcome them for the rain…just as long as they don’t cause the power to go out. 🙂
I feel uneasy around them, tbh. We don’t get them here often enough to really be used to them.
myotherlife · 61-69, M
They are normal here in Oklahoma but are usually done around June not this late in the year
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I do not mind the thunderstorms, as long as it is not destructive

samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@nedkelly they are all potentially destructive. luckily most do not strike on inhabited land.
As long as I'm not standing in the river waving a graphite fly rod, they're pretty cool.
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
I love storms unless it is major and destructive.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
I like them when they roll in during the evening.
jackson55 · M
Quite common here in Arizona.
shinyplasticlove · 51-55, M
I love them. I love doing lightning photography.
Cloud7593 · 46-50, F
I like them as long as they're not destructive.
just had one. i kinda dig them when they cool things down this time of year. they suck if they just push the humidity up
@dirge exactly
Musicman · 61-69, M
I am not a big fan of thunder storms either. ☹
