I worked on a dairy farm and have a degree in agricultural science.

You get up really early, you gotta get close with your cattle, twice a day, you’re gonna get shit on, touch lots of teets, get kicked but some cows are really sweet 🥰

I have. I used to spend summers visiting family up north. My aunt and uncle had a dairy farm so I spent a lot of time around cows.

Really? They are just cows. We used to have a couple of cows we milked for home use. Whole milk is so thick and lumpy with all the fats (cream) in it. Breaking a cow in to being milked is a process or she will kick you. Once they are used to it they look forward to the relief of the pressure in their udders. We raise beef on part of the farm and grow mostly cattle feed on it to sell.

I tried honestly but it didn’t come easily for me. It took a bit to get the hang of it. My much older brother in law was raised on a farm so when I was a teenager I milked cows and bottle fed many baby cows. Even watched them be born.

It's among my numerous now-useless accomplishments. Not only cows, but an ill-tempered goat who would not allow her twin babies to nurse.

The goat was much smaller and much much more challenging. To avoid being mauled, I had to rope her whole body to a tree like I was preparing to burn her at the stake.

Like so many things, milking a cow is easier when done as persuasion rather than demand.

I have, milked goats too. A cows tear can get too big for the calf to eat from so it only eats off of one. So we have to milk it so it doesn't get infection. Had to do this with goats too

Yes i watched a dairy farm for 2 weeks plus worked a day job ...lot of work but i enjoyed it!

I've been in a milking stall, gotten squirted by the guy milking a cow. Also kicked by a cow for not giving her space.

Twice in grade school my class visited a dairy farm and I milked a cow. Creepy feeling.

Many,many moons ago yes. My uncle had cows and a bull or two.
My dad bought and sold horses . So yes love been around and done many things on “ farms” not very big farms but farms.

I have milked a cow manualy by hand.. When i was a kid we had one cow that provided the family with all the nilk they needed.. We had to milk her twice a day.. It took about 20 minutes..

My cousin used to run a dairy farm and I don't think I ever saw anyone manually milk a cow. It was all machines by that point.

Yes I was about 13 the first time . Used to live near a farm and often went to help the farmer with the cows , pigs etc .
